Blitz Kids have been playing support to other bands passing them by for months but since the release of their second full length album ‘The Good Youth’ in January they’ve been carrying their own. The album propelled them much further this year than thought possible and they’re going from one strength to another; so much so that the album was my album of the year for many months. Joey was sadly on vocal rest for London which meant reasonable amounts of their set was him thrusting a microphone towards the direction of the crowd but this isn’t to say what was played was by any means bad. The set was pretty spot on, with the inclusion of a small cover of My Chemical Romance’s ‘I’m Not Okay’ –although we do wonder whether much of the crowd will remember the track when it was first released.
