Bloody Mary Metal: Independent jewellery brands are smashing it

Having worked in jewellers for years I have amassed a huge collection of jewellery but I’m always on the lookout for quirky chunkier jewellery which I can wear every day. Sadly everything I seem to come across is a mixture of silver or rhodium plated and apart from the odd item which fits the bill but is hundreds of pounds and sadly out of reach.

I stumbled across Bloody Mary Metal by complete accident, I was having a nosy at the wish list a friend had made for her birthday back in November and she had put a ring from the collection on there and the rest is history. Coming across the website I was struck by the unique style of their jewellery and unbelievably it was all silver!

Having stared at the brands beautiful jewellery for hours (no exaggeration) I decided one of the rings had to be on my Christmas list and in December with my presents sat my Ambers Arrow ring. I always knew I wanted more so when the brand dangled a 10% offer on their products after Christmas it was all the encouragement I needed to purchase the Crossbones ring. I had seen so many pictures across instagram of people wearing them and it looked amazing.

The team may be small, with just a handful of people, but they’re one of the hardest working brands I know. Despite stating a 7-14 day delay on items purchased over the Christmas/ New Year period (completely acceptable) my item was posted out on the same day that they returned to the office and turned up with me the next. You can’t ask for better service than that!

With 2 rings comfortably in my collection already, I know that during 2015 I will be inviting more pieces to take up residence in my jewellery box. All I need to do is apologise to my bank account.

What are your favourite pieces from the collection?
