How the hell is it 2015 already? And how are we over a week into January already?! This year sees’ me turn a quarter of a century, in actual fact it’s a mere few days away and this will be my first full year out of retail.
I did love working in retail, I worked with so many amazing people, helped people with some really important moments in their lives, and it’s nice to know that plenty of women have engagement rings on that I had a hand in choosing! But retail did get in my way of doing everything I wanted to. Having to work weekends, bank holidays and extensively over Christmas took it’s toll and in the last few years I do feel I lost out on nights out, trips away and other things so i’m determined to make up for it this year.
Travelling is something i’ve always loved and with plenty of bank holidays that i’ll actually be off for i’m going to max out my air miles! 2015 is also going to be my year of saying yes, i’m no longer going to use the excuse of ‘I’m too tired’ or ‘I have an early start tomorrow’ because impromptu trips are sometimes the best.
I hate making specific resolutions as such because I think if you want to do something then do it, why wait for a new year. Like those who say my new years resolution is to go to the gym, why do you have to start in January? Start when you want to! But I do make things I want to achieve or do and going to a minimum of 3 countries outside the UK this year has definitely made it’s way onto the list.
