Beauty On A Budget: Poundland

Beauty On A Budget: Poundland

Poundland Blusher in Spice 3- £1/ Poundland Foundation Brush- £1/ Poundland Lipstick in Plum Pout-£1/ Poundland Bronzer in Light Shimmer 3- £1

I love a bargain as much as the next person so when cheap beauty buys get advertised in my face I love to snap them up. There are so many make-up brands now offering cheap products, including the wonderful Fragrance Direct and loads of budget stores.

You can’t get much more of a bargain than Poundland can you?! I always end up going in here only needing one thing about coming out with about twenty because you know it’s only a pound! I first tried some of the Poundland make-up a few months ago and the products I have used are pretty amazing.

I bought one of the blushers in Spice- 3 and my god it really is one of my most used blushers (as you can see from the picture!) The colour is natural looking but adds just the right colour to my cheek and it’s super long lasting. I put this on at 8.30am and it lasts through to the late evening, even when I go to the gym! Comparing it to some high branded blushers it truly is incredible. I’ve already run out and stocked up on a new one because i’ll be so upset if they discontinue it!

I have quite a collection of make-up brushes and apart from a few Mac eyeliner brushes most of them are cheaper ones i’ve ordered online or got in shops like Poundland. Due to the fact that I wear about four different CC/BB creams I like to use seperate brushes for each one as the colours are all slightly different which is why I don’t like paying masses (although this might change when I head to NY in September!) This foundation brush is my only purchase from their brushes collection but it really is great, the bristles are thick enough to hold the product but not so thick that it gets clogged up, and after almost nine months of use it’s still not damaged or anything. I am seriously impressed!

A while ago when Mac released this gorgeous dark purple shade I knew I wanted to try out a dark lipstick, but I didn’t fancy spending £18+ on something I didn’t think i’d wear much. This is why I picked up this lipstick from Poundland. The lipstick is easy to apply and stays on pretty well for something that cost less than a bottle of fizzy drink! The colour is vibrant and although I won’t be using it everyday it’s a great addition to my collection.

The final product I have from Poundland is this bronzer in shade Shimmer Light 3, in the same sense as the blusher it is really long lasting and the shimmer is just enough for everyday wear. As you can see from the picture the colour has a glistening edge and the colour is perfect for the summer time. I haven’t used this as much as it’s more for going out than everyday but again for the price it’s insane value.

Have you tried anything from Poundland’s make-up collection?

I don't think I'd ever try Poundland beauty products for the simple fact my skin can be very sensitive at times and I wouldn't want to risk it but they look pretty good.

I had the same thoughts because my skin is quite sensitive. I started with the lipstick and then progressed. I don't think i'd go as far as the foundation though! x

We don't have a poundland where I live so I've never tried their products, but I don't wear much makeup anyway. It's great when you find a bargain though!

I've heard people raving about the blush from Poundland. I thought I will wait until I see a review before I buy anything. I might go in now and make a purchase x

It's definitely worthwhile, it's an easy way of trying new shades and things without feeling like it will be a waste if it doesn't work out! x
