Bucket lists are things i’ve seen so many people creating recently and while I already create lists of things I want to achieve each year ranging from places to visit to career points I want to get to I thought i’d do one too. At 25 years old, I have less than four and a half years until I turn 30 (a fact my mum likes to remind me at each birthday!) and I know so much can change in my life over these years but here are some things I want to tick off my bucket list before then.
I’ve been watching social media updates of Warped Tour and seeing reviews of it in magazines for such a long time that I feel it’s only right that I head over to America to the festival myself. I have already talked to a few friends about potentially going over to New York next July for the event so fingers crossed we get this booked up.
Skydiving is something i’ve wanted to do for absolute ages as I think it would be one of those experiences you’ve got to do once in your life. I’ve never really been a fan at thinking of doing this in the UK- if I do it I want beautiful views when I plummet downwards- so maybe I can combine this with my next bucket list item.
Australia is somewhere i’ve wanted to visit for ages, especially as i’ve heard so many cool stories from people I know about how amazing it is. I want to scuba dive at the great barrier reef, get into a cage with sharks around me and go to Byron Bay. If I could combine this with a skydive- and their annual Soundwave festival then this would be the ultimate trip.
I’ve yoyoed over the past four years from being the size I am now, right down to my ideal weight and then back up again. I don’t want to get to the weight deemed right for my height, or the weight that others may see as optimal, I want to get to the weight I want to be. I currently don’t feel happy with how I look so I want to get where I am happy and maintain it.
I’ve been upping my fitness levels so much over the past seven months and I feel so much better for it but running is still my weakness. I am walking a marathon in September so at least i’ll get an idea of the length but over the next four a bit years i’d love to keep increasing my fitness levels so that I can finally run one.
Now I don’t mind whether this is a long weekend on my own or a few weeks off travelling i’ve never really been away completely on my own and I think it’s something I need to experience. I’m not confident talking to new people so hopefully being on my own will push me to speak to new people, that or i’ll just get a lot done while i’m away.
I’m such a big kid when it comes to Disney and theme parks. I love rollercoasters so much and am a complete adrenaline junkie with that sort of thing that i’ll try pretty much anything, but I also love Disney. I’d love to experience all the worlds at Disneyland and just get the chance to become a big kid again.
I’m pretty good with my money, transferring out all my bill money to separate accounts and never missing payments but I haven’t really saved for a long time. Back at the end of 2012 I bought my flat which meant all my savings went on my deposit, solicitors fees, new furniture etc and i’ve not been in a position since to save again. On top of all the amazing trips I want to do I want to start saving money each month so i’ve got money behind me for the future. (Good luck me!)
