Lush Isn’t Just About The Bath Bombs

Lush Isn’t Just About The Bath Bombs

Ocean Salt Face and Body Scrub £7.95/ Angels on Bare Skin Cleanser £6.95/ Bubblegum Lip Scrub £5.50

A few weeks ago I had my very first facial which was a great experience but it also told me a lot about my skin. Sadly i’ve always been pretty bad with any kind of skincare routine and stuck with it for a week and then stopped doing it. I’m lucky to even properly take off my make up at night. This is why when I headed to Lush’s Oxford Street store face care products were on my mind. I had the time to talk to a sales associate try out a whole host of products and make some choices.

The first thing I bought was an amazing face and body cleanser called ‘Angels on Bare Skin’ which like the name suggests is light and very good for slightly sensitive skin. You only need a tiny bit of the cleanser which you then create into some sort of paste with the aid of some water and lather up all over. For the past three weeks (and counting) I have used this every single night and I am amazed and how smooth my skin in afterwards. The great thing is it takes me literally a few minutes in the evening which is probably why i’ve been able to keep up with it.

I also opted for the Ocean Salt’ exfoliation which again is something I rarely used previously. Because of the harsher texture of this product it’s only recommended to use about once a week so it is a great weekend pamper treat. It’s rough enough to feel like it’s doing something but not so rough that my skin is left sore or red afterwards which is always a bonus. The great thing is the pot is pretty big and you don’t actually need a lot of product so it’s going to last quite a while.

The final scrub I opted for was the ‘Bubblegum Lip Scrub’ which smells incredible, so much so I have to keep stopping myself from eating the little tub. The scrub is made with a caster sugar base mixed with other things which creates a slightly rough scrub to spread over and ever since using it my lips have been really soft and i’m even finding my lipstick sits on my lips better. The fact that it’s bright pink and smells of bubblegum is just an added bonus.

Lush might be well known for their quirky brightly coloured bath bombs but you should make sure you check out their skin care when you’re next in store as there are some amazing products there.

What’s your favourite lush product?

The Angels on Bare skin is one of my favourite products, but that's because my skin doesn't react well to harsh products x

I love the bubblegum lip scrub. I have tried Angels On Bare Skin but it didn't work for me, I hated the little bits in it lol xxx

I totally get how they'd get on your nerves. I love the lip scrub so much x

I love this! While Lush has totally earned their bath product reputation, they have some amazing products for your skin and hair! My favourite thing I've tried so far is their shampoo bar called Seanik. It smells lovely. I wish I had bought one closer to the beginning of summer (rather than the end of July as I did) because it's such a summer-y product!

Totally agree. While I completely love their bath range I do try and go in and look at other things like the skin care. Especially in the Oxford street store as they have so many exclusives. I haven't tried a shampoo bar yet, I might have to add that to my next binge x

I agree it isn't the nicest smell but it works really well for my skin so I can put up with that! 🙂 x

I still love the bath bombs! Might try that exfoliator though, love anything with a hint of the sea!

The bath bombs are still amazing, but I never really thought of their skin care before. x

Funnily enough I've never considered Lush for skincare! I've heard of the lip scrub but that cleanser looks amazing!

The cleanser is one of the best things i've used. The sales associates in every store I have been into are so lovely and willing to give up their time. The first time they sent me away with loads of samples and didn't pressure me at all! x

I've not really thought of Lush as a skincare brand before – more lovely bath products. I think the scrub sounds interesting – I'd like to try it.

I felt exactly the same before going in and having a look. To me it was all about the bath bombs! x

  8. September 9, 2015 / 12:33 pm

I'll Deffo go and have a look at their skincare now. Like others I never really thought of them like that. Had the lip scrub before though and it's a keeper!!

The lip scrub was such an impulse purchase which I bought just because it smelt nice. Their skin care is so good though x

  9. September 9, 2015 / 12:36 pm

Ah, I love a bit of Lush! Wish that they would open a Spa in their Birmingham branch!

    • September 9, 2015 / 1:19 pm

I've never used the spa but I might next time I make a trip into their Oxford Street branch x
