My First Experience Of Laser Hair Removal

My First Experience Of Laser Hair Removal

Us ladies all know the struggles of having to shave our underarms don’t we? It’s not really something which can be avoided sadly, so when Pulse Light Clinic invited me to their Central London Branch to try out a few sessions of Laser Hair removal I knew what I was having done.

There are so many types of Laser Hair Removal and Pulse Light use traditional heat based lasers. My patch test was over in literally a second so it was hard to tell whether it was painful, but when I had my first treatment this was going to be the test. While everyone’s pain threshold is different I didn’t think that the laser hurt too much. It was a little sore as it is quite hot but nothing which was too much to handle.

Everybody I have encountered from the receptionists to the ladies who did both my patch test and first session were absolutely lovely. I found out from both of the women who did the laser that because I had fairer hair I would need a stronger boost of laser removal because it actually works better on people with darker hair which is something I did not know. Pulse Light Clinic is located in Central London with their clinic being housed about a five minute walk from Bank station so it was super easy to get to.

I know it usually takes a lot of treatments to notice anything but even after my first one I noticed the hair did not grow back as quickly. Rather than having to shave every other day I didn’t need to for over two weeks straight after my first treatment, so I was very happy.

I am scheduled in for a second session at the beginning of December so we’ll see how that goes.

Have you ever tried laser, or any other longer term hair removal treatments?

*My laser hair removal treatment was provided free of charge from Pulse Light Clinic but all views are my own

Interesting. It will be good to hear how it goes after the next treatment as I've considered having it done. Like a super-powered hairdryer, some things are worth the money as they save your so much time!

I'd been thinking about it for ages and sometimes it's just worth taking the plunge x

I would definitely like to get laser hair removal. I have PCOS, so I have quite a bit more unwanted hair on my face than most ladies. I wonder how much it would hurt on a face though…will have to look into it. Thanks for sharing your experience! xx

You could try Soprano laser as that's cool laser do it's not designed to hurt as much. That's worth looking into x

Oh no thank you… don't fancy that.. it's in the same realm as waxing for me. A trusty razor (usually Hubby's – but don't tell him!) is ok for me. 🙂

I don't like waxing, plus you have to get it done too regularly. Hopefully this will last an awful lot longer x

I've never tried laser treatment, looking forward to hearing how you get on with your future treatments.

I've not tried laser hair removal but so many people have had success stories this is definitely something I would consider

It's worth the extra money to have to avoid shaving! x

    • November 8, 2015 / 4:54 pm

I was expecting it to be a worse pain so that was good x

This is something I've been toying witht the idea of for ages, my hair is so thick and dark this sounds like it would be great to help reduce it at least. Look forward to seeing how it goes for you

Thicker darker hair is apparently more successful in laser than thinner, lighter hair so you should have good success x

Two weeks? That sounds like heaven! I hate shaving and makes my skin dry! This is definitely something that I will be considering

Yeah I hate shaving too, and I do aqua aerobics every week so I can't shy away in the winter! x

I haven't tried it but I would not say no. I look forward to reading more about it on your blog Rhian.

It's well worth it and it's nowhere near as expensive as it used to be x
