Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation £32 / Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer £22 / Nars Eyeliner Stylo in Koala £20.50 / Nars Blush Sex Appeal £23 / Nars Audacious Lipstick in Natalie £24
You might remember a few weeks ago I did a post about my Selfridges Beauty Wishlist, I only had one item from Nars on there so I popped along to their stand to check it out. I actually ended up leaving with two items and another three on my wishlist. Fortunately a few days later Nars did a 20% off Black Friday promotion so I was able to pick up my wishlist items.
I find a lot of the stalls in Selfridges quite pushy so I tend to not ask questions or advice but the staff at the Nars counter when I went were absolutely lovely. I asked the assistant to help my find a foundation colour in the Sheer Glow Foundation and she asked why I had picked the particular one I did. Naturally it was because of fellow bloggers and reading recommendations, but she actually directed me to a different version which was better on dry skin like mine, the Luminous Weightless Foundation.
After colour matching I chose the one I wanted and on a whim decided to get the Creamy Concealer as well and I am so glad I bought it. The concealer is creamy and easy to apply, and I literally need the smallest dab under my eye to smoothen out the colour so it’s going to last a while. I haven’t really used the foundation enough to give a proper review so expect one in the future.
I had already spotted the Koala liquid eyeliner when I went to the counter which is a dark grey and surprisingly this is a colour that not many places do. You tend to find silver which is quite light, but I thought the grey would be a slightly softer change than my usual black or dark brown. The pen is really thin and easy to apply, it reminds me very much of my Kat Von D tattoo liner.
When I was in store and the assistant did my make-up she popped on some natural blush for me as she had had to take off all my make-up to do the colour test and she used ‘Sex Appeal’. In the palette it looks like a really light rose blush and on it is so subtle that it was spot on for me. I struggle sometimes with blushers because even light looking one tend to overpower my pale skin but this was just enough. As you can see from the above swatch it’s on the far left and you can barely even see it.
I couldn’t have a Nars haul without a brand new lipstick could I? I had used the pens before but didn’t have an actual lipstick. I bought this one online so had to look at swatches from other bloggers but I settled on Audacious Lipstick in Natalie which was an off mid red. I love the fact that it has a slight orangey tone to it which is great for my paler skin as it warms me rather than washes me out.
Other than a few lip pens these were my first Nars purchases and I have to say I am very impressed and the packing feels so hard-wearing and expensive.
