Lemon Drizzle Afternoon Tea

lemon drizzle bath oil

I have an unhealthy obsession with the smell of lemons which means that anything even bordering on citrus smelling is right up my street (yes this even includes those multi surface wipes which are lemon scented). For Christmas and various birthday’s I whip up batches of my lemon drizzle cake which is literally demolished by everyone in my family within seconds.

I was contacted by the lovely people at Cognito Spa about their new brand of Afternoon Tea products and one of them was a Lemon Drizzle Bath and Body Oil* which I felt I instantly needed in my life. Flash forward a week and a package dropped on my doorstep ready for me.

First of all let’s get the obvious out of the way, yes it did smell insane, stronger than pretty much any lemon based product I’ve tried before, and yes if I closed my eyes it did make me want to eat some. I promise I didn’t! I have a little self control.

I’ve never really been one for oil based products, no real reason why but I’ve not but with my slightly dry skin when I applied this directly to my body it was hugely nourishing, how had I not worked this out before?! My skin not only smelt amazing afterwards but looked healthy and glowy (and not at all shiny or oily).

As well as using it on my skin I have used it in my bath routine although it was tough holding myself back from throwing in a trusty Lush bomb. I only used about a cap full but this was more than enough for the bath to be soothing on my skin without drenching myself in product.

It was initially the lemon smell which drew me in but I am so glad that I tried it because I am now converted to using more oil based products on my skin, especially in the evening when there’s time for it to sink in.

I've recently started to appreciate the scent of lemons and anything citrus-y. It's such an uplifting scent. The body oil sounds pretty darn divine!

I've rarely used bath and body oils. This one sounds good and I think I'd like the lemon scent too.Btw, I was confused since I thought initially you were going to write about a brand of tea.

Bath and body oil sounds amazing, indeed since I am a fan of skincare oils in general. Not sure about lemon scent though since I find it to be a bit strong for my liking. There are citrusy scents that I can stand to some extent but lemon scents is a no unfortunately.
