Welcome To My Concealer Collection

Posted in Beauty

We’ve had the primer addition and we’ve had the foundation/ bases additions so now it’s time that I brought you the concealer addition. My concealer collection is much more manageable as it’s an area where I’ve found quite a few products that I love over time. I have split my collection into liquid concealers and solid concealers to give you a comparison of them both. Apologises in advance that there isn’t a photo of the swatches of the solid concealers because they just didn’t come out all that well.

Solid Concealers

Kiko Full Coverage Concealer £7.50
Last years’ Black Friday was pretty much when I picked up the bulk of the Kiko products I own because it was ‘Buy 3 Get 3 Free’, yes I know crazy?! So naturally I picked up quite a few products and this was one of them. The fact that it was called full coverage pulled me in, because while I don’t get breakouts very often if I do the spot tends to look pretty aggressive so I need something pretty heavy to cover it. This concealer does exactly that, it is creamy enough to get out of the pan without too much difficulty, creamy enough to blend on but not so creamy that it needs anything to set it. There’s a decent collection of colours so there’s likely to be a match for everyone which is great. Compared to other full coverage concealers this works just as well for the fraction of the price.

Benefit Boiing Benefit’s £17.50
Boi-ing was one of the first ‘proper’ concealers that I bought and this was after a friends recommendation. They have six different colours and there is a perfect match for me and my pale skin (although in the image it looks pretty dark!). The concealer is easy to apply as it comes off creamy on your finger and blends well. It has a great strength and has covered up even some of the toughest spots for me over the years. The concealer may feel a little pricy but it’s really long lasting so well worth the price.

Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick £29.50
I bought this foundation stick after hearing loads about it from fellow bloggers, you get a really good sized amount of product for the price but I don’t feel that it’s worth almost £30. It applied smoothly and blended well but the strength wasn’t as good as say Benefit’s or Kikos versions and for the price I was expecting at least similar levels of coverage. The thing I do like about this though is the fact that it’s in stick form so you can swipe it straight on and blend with a brush if you’re out and don’t want to use your hands.

Mac Pro Longwear Concealer £17.50
My Mac concealer is something which I’ve had for quite a long time and definitely needs a top off as you can see from the image. This is one of the best foundations that I’ve used for a few reasons. It is strong enough to cover up my dark circles and blemishes without feeling too heavy and it is super long lasting keeping everything covered until late in the day. As I don’t use this every day and when I do use it it’s only under my eyes or dotted around it lasts a really long time so the price doesn’t feel expensive at all.

Garnier Caffeine Eye Roll On £9.99
The Garnier Eye Roll on is my go to when I am looking for a more natural look. This is something I have used for years and years and can honestly say that the bags under my eyes look miles better than when I didn’t use the product. It has caffeine added to it to perk my eyes up and my eyes look brighten than when I go for longer periods without using it (never again!). It has a very light colour to mask the dark bags but it’s less makeup and more a skincare item with a hydrating caffeine boost to wake up my tired eyes. This is the sort of thing I think i’ll be using for years to come.

Nars Creamy Concealer £22
I normally go into stores and to counters with a list knowing what I want to buy and this was actually a complete whim buy after the Nars rep used it on me after doing a foundation match and I am so glad I picked it up. I might go as far as saying it’s my holy grail concealer and I don’t throw around compliments like that very often. I tend to use concealer under my eyes as I have quite dark bags and on any larger blemishes/ spots which may have crept out and this covers them amazingly. The creamy consistency means that it blends well and due to it’s wand applicator you can use the exact amount you want without any going to waste. And the best thing is how hydrating it is on my dry skin. Thanks Nars for saving me!

Kiko Dark Circle Eraser £8.90
I was instantly drawn in by the fact that this is a dark circle eraser because my sleeping pattern is so up and down that I constantly have dark circles. This comes out as quite a yellowy colour which was a little scary putting on at first but it all makes sense as it brightens the area under my eyes. The cream is smooth and hydrating and feels really nice under my eyes but it isn’t runny or oily so I don’t have to worry about it ruining the rest of my make up. This is one of those pick me up products that I love using when I don’t quite feel like I’ve had enough sleep (which is pretty much everyday!)

Kiko Soft Focus Concealer £7.50
I bought this on a bit of a whim because I had been lusting over the YSL and Charlotte Tilbury sticks which look pretty similar to this. I liked the idea of the brush at the end and it being easy to use but it took a while before I’d class it as easy. You have to click a button to get the product out and I swear I clicked this button about 50 times before any product started to come out, but after that it was far more reliable. The colour matched my skin really well and it was really easy to blend the formula without it being too oily, but it just didn’t quite cut it for under my eyes. I have quite dark bags under my eyes and this just wasn’t heavy enough to make much impact covering it. This would be great for someone who doesn’t need a lot of coverage or wants something light.

  • Caffeine Eye Roll On sounds great. I usually make coffee face scrubs and they are great, so the roll on for eyes must be fab. I would try it.

  • Need the dark circle eraser lol you have tried a lot of different things here

  • I've heard so many good things about the Garnier one but someone mentioned somewhere that they had discontinued it, I don't know whether that's true or not but I hope not as I really wanted to try it xx

  • I've been wanting to try the kiko full coverage concealer even since I read your kiko haul!! But still haven't picked it up! I want to try the Nars concealer too as I've heard it's one of the best for covering everything but not creasing or caking up! Creepers & Cupcakes

  • The Garnier Caffeine Eye Roll On was my go to product when it first came out but then one day I actually caught sight of it on my face in broad daylight and instantly threw it away. It's a great product but because of the lack of shade choice it was horrendously orange on me. Slightly worried as to how long I wandered around with orange under eyes for!

    Raise The Waves

  • I never really did get into primers tbh! I must be the only beauty blogger who skipped that phase/craze. I've tried the Bobbi Brown foundation stick and really love it as a foundation. The coverage isn't full though (which is what I quite liked about it) so if you're using it as a concealer, it probs isn't a good idea as you say! X

  • I use Mac Pro Longwear Concealer and love it! As you say, it's great for covering up dark circles.

  • Great collection, I use an Armani concealer which is pretty good when combined with bare minerals foundation.

  • I love concealer. You collection makes me very envious. I really love the Benefit concealers and also I think you should check out the H&M concealer Trio- its seriously amazing! :)

  • This is such an amazing selection of skin tone products. Thank you for the thorough review. I think I need to check out the Kiko dark circle eraser.
