Can you believe that before about October last year I had never tried a product from Nars? I don’t like being high-end beauty products online and I have to go to London to have a nosy at Nars rather than in my local stores.
Last year I made my first splurge buying the Nars sheer glow foundation which I had a little difficulty with to begin with due to some annoying dry spots on my cheeks and the edges of my nose. Fortunately, as I have upped my moisturiser game I can use this foundation again without it clinging to dry patches *yay* The wonderful team in Selfridges were absolutely spot on with my colour match and one pump of the foundation goes quite a long way and is enough to cover my whole face with a medium coverage.
The Nars creamy concealer has been one of my total holy grail products recently and I had no idea concealer’s could even be this great. I won’t talk too much about it as I give a thorough review of it in my concealer breakdown post here, but this is one of my favourite products around.
Nars blushers are the products that I have the most of. Last year I purchased Sex Appeal (Far left) which is a barely there light pink tone which for my pale skin works really well to just give my cheeks a little colour for a simpler day to day look. I had loved the look or Orgasm (Bottom) which is one of the beauty world’s most coveted blushes but the colour looked too dark and daring for me so I was super excited to get it in my December My Little Box. I was completely wrong about the colour as it is a beautiful mid pinky tone which is quite easy to use as a natural look without building it up too much.
I made a trip to Selfridges in February and treated myself to two new blushes (oops I only went in for one) and bought Deep Throat (Top) which is a slightly deeper pink tone than Orgasm and Unlawful (Far right) which is a slightly orangery bronze tone and really nice to make me look like I have a little bit more colour. I’m really keen to try out even more shades but at £23 each, I think I might wait until I’ve used up what I have so far. Let’s see if that lasts!
I’ve only tried one of Nars’ lipsticks so far from their Audacious collection in shade Natalie which is an orangey toned red. The lipstick goes on with a creamy consistency but doesn’t look sheen on my lips, almost with a matte finish. The orangey tone is great as it warms my tone rather than washing me out like a lot of red shades do.
The final product I have from Nars is the Koala eyeliner which is a grey shade and sadly it’s the only Nars product which I think is a bit naff. When drawing it on my hand it comes out a deep dark grey but in reality, it just doesn’t come out like they on the eyelid and it comes through as quite a light grey which wasn’t what I wanted when I originally bought it which is a shame.
