Can You Believe These Songs Are Over 10 Years Old?

The other week I was in the gym and because I had forgotten my iPod I was listening to whatever radio station they had on. The DJ started introducing tracks as a throwback to the early naughties or late 90’s and I could not believe how old these tracks were.

I was born just on the cusp of the 90’s in January 1990 and at 26 I’m still pretty young but when I hear that tracks which I love and remember oh so well are 10, 15, even 20 years old I feel like crawling into bed and having a little sob. How is life going so quickly?!  I can still remember all the words to so many of these tracks, who doesn’t remember a lot of the Eminem/ D12 rap sequences and the crooning of Nelly and Kelly?! Come on, I can’t be the only one!

I am very much a creature of habit and while my general music tastes are on the heavier side of the musical spectrum I do love listening to music which isn’t quite as headache inducing and this is where the below playlist comes in. Every since one of the tracks on this list is over 10 years’ old.

Get all nostalgic and check out how much used to sound (FYI I love each and every one of these tracks!)

  • I’m with you on the nelly and kelly songs.. It’s like a time jump when I hear them. Takes me back! x

  • Nelly and Kelly always reminds me of my middle daughter, as she was born when that song was on the radio every ten minutes! Some great songs in that playlist, and also some that I have no recollection of at all!

  • Ickle Pickle

I was 20 in 1991! Most of the 90’s to me were about getting married, setting up home and having babies – it is the decade I least remember for the music! Kaz x
