Saturday Nights In With Taste Cocktails

Saturday Nights In With Taste Cocktails

With myself and my friends now being in our mid (to late) twenties other than the odd big occasion like a special birthday, we don’t tend to have massive nights out. I’m not a fan of spending loads of money to stand in a sweaty club, be leered at by creepy men and queue for hours just for a drink. So we’re much more likely to stay in and have a night in together. Usually said night would include snacks, PJ’s, movies and cocktails because who said you have to be dressed up to enjoy a lovely drink?!

I never used to be a huge fan of rum but I’ve loved Mojitos for bloody ages and it’s one of the choice drinks that we will knock up on a Saturday evening. I recently spoke to the wonderful team at Taste Cocktails* who offered to send me a Mojito cocktail making kit and of course I wasn’t going to turn that down. The box came super quickly and was so well presented with a booklet explaining how to make the cocktail alongside a whole host of ingredients to make the perfect cocktail.

Taste Cocktails

I never actually knew how much went into making the perfect Mojito, and I definitely haven’t been making them right for a long time. When I went away for bank holiday last weekend I took the set so that I could share the drinks with my friends although they didn’t get too much of a look in! Everything was explained so well and with the help of the instruction book the Mojito’s we made were pretty near perfect. If we were sat in the sunshine on a beach then they’d be spot on.

What’s your favourite way to spend a Saturday night? What’s your favourite cocktail?

I only started liking mojitos a couple of years ago and now they’re my fave. I have to ask for them to be made sweet though xxx

I’ve never heard of taste cocktails, but I love the idea of this. I wonder if they do a French Martini version? I’d be all over that!

That’s such a brilliant kit! It would make a brilliant small present for a friend. I love a cocktail, but I’m not really good (or patient) at making them.

Isn’t it funny how we age and tend to prefer to stay in instead of going out on nights on the town. I do still love me a good cocktail though. 🙂

I used to love making cocktails. I had the whole shibang. The art was mastering the layers in shot glasses. Staying in making and drinking cocktails is so much more fun.

Ohh I love mojitos and when I make them at home they never seem to work out the same. Maybe I need the kit as well. I am not a huge fan of nights out either, I used to be more of a party animal but I have went the completely other way now and would much rather be at home in my pj’s. x

Rum is my most favourite spirit. Especially dark rum which I’ll happily have on the rocks! I love the sound of this Mojito kit

I am not a massive cocktail fan as prefer to drink Whiskey on the rare occasion that I drink. But if I have to choose I would also go with a mojito. It is such a crowd pleaser of a drink 🙂

  21. May 9, 2016 / 10:05 pm

Ah this is such a cute idea, I love the packaging as well!

  22. May 10, 2016 / 3:20 pm

At the moment my favourite way to spend a Saturday night is to sleep! My favourite cocktail is a long island iced tea – it has been wayyyy too long!

  23. May 10, 2016 / 9:32 pm

A cocktail kit?? That sounds brilliant! I love cocktails but I like the idea of making my own, mixing my own flavours and strengths!!

I definitely need a cocktail kit in my life! There’s a bar by my house that does a cocktail called a Dirty Charlotte which I tried because it’s my name but I actually really love it, it’s just basically a strawberry daiquiri with a zingy kick. I opt to spend my Saturday nights more relaxed now instead of partying, I’m over crowded clubs and bars xx
