Last month I headed to Paris for four days and I didn’t actually realise until nearing going that there were Sephora’s there. I already had a list as long as my arm (and more) for when I head to the States, and due to the shitty Euro exchange rate I knew things would be a little pricey. I opted to stick to just the Sephora own brand products during this mini haul so that I can get everything else in the States where it’s going to much cheaper.
To begin with I wanted a bunch of face masks to try and I chose one face sheet mask, one eye mask, and two sleeping masks. I wanted a good mixture so I can try them out and make a decision on which ones are worth buying when I return. I liked the idea of the sleeping masks as you can apply a thin layer to your skin and let it sink in while you sleep. I have yet to try out these face masks so keep an eye open for what I think.
Next up I got two of the Sephora lip stains as I had heard so many great things about them and I was not disappointed. I chose 05 which is a nude shade with a slight shimmer, great for everyday wear, and 06 which is a pale- mid pink colour which is really striking and not too barbie looking. The lip stains glide onto my lips really easy, don’t stain if I make a mess (which does happen a lot) and only stays liquid for a few minutes before settling matte. Once it dries the lipstick has great staying power and easily lasts most of my working day including eating lunch, and they aren’t drying. A massive thumbs up from me and I’ll definitely be stocking up on a few more in New York.
Next up was some eye products including a thin-nibbed black liquid eyeliner pen cause ya know you can never have enough and some eye make-up remover. I wanted to buy a bigger version of this but alas I only had hand luggage so had to be careful but this is seriously good stuff. I used it in the store to remove the swatches on my hand and they all came off in one swipe, and when used on my heavily made up eyes it doesn’t take much to clean them up. I’m going to be getting the biggest bottle I possibly can when I head back to Sephora. I also opted for a small perfume as I have been meaning to get one for my bag for ages and this one smelt super fresh.
I then decided to grab one of their dry brush cleaners, now that works a bit like dry shampoo and when I realise I need to use a brush, but it’s dirty and I don’t have time to wash it, I can use some of the spray and rub it in like dry shampoo to use. Naturally it works much better on eyeshadow/ blusher brushes as opposed to heavy foundation brushes, and it isn’t a long-term solution but it works well.
The final items I snapped up were some nail varnishes. After eight years I have finally had my gel nails removed so I pretty much own no nail varnish so this needed to change. I bought three fairly neutral shades including a light coral, a grey and a nude and they’re all such nice colours that I can’t wait to properly try them out.
