Having bought so much in Sephora on my trip to New York last month it’s taken a while to try out all of my products and to really work out which bits I absolutely love. There are a fair few bits which have worked themselves into my everyday use and I genuinely don’t know how I coped without some of them.
Sephora Blotting Papers- How I lived before blotting papers I’ll never know. I get quite a greasy T Zone and tops of my cheeks during the day but these blotting papers have been a complete god-send. All I have to do is pat one over my face and boom it picks up the oil and leaves me looking non-shiny. Hooray!
Sephora Wipes- Another own brand product which in honesty I only picked up as I ran out of make up remover wipes while I was away. These wipes smell amazing which is a great start but usually I don’t feel wipes go anywhere near removing all of my makeup but these really go. They’re really hydrating and seem to work just as well as my micellar water. I don’t use them at home much but they’re perfect to take away anytime I go out.
Hourglass Blush in Mood Exposure- I have wanted an Hourglass blush for years but never been able to justify the expense on a single item that I already own so many of. Due to my extreme savings I obviously went mental being makeup and thought I’d treat myself and I’m actually kicking myself as to why I didn’t sooner. The colour is a soft plum colour which is so unlike anything I already own and it applies really well with little needed to create a perfect colour. The formula is smooth and soft and I’m definitely contemplating buying some more.
Estee Edit Flash Finish Powder- I’ve never really used powder properly but was really intrigued by the translucent powder in the new collection from Estee Lauder. As a great place to start with the brand and a product I actually didn’t own I snapped it up. I now know how much a powder can finish a look, it can tone down imperfections, blot down any oily spots and with the finish to this version it seems to level out my skin tone really well. Impressive for a white coloured powder.
Too Faced Hangover Primer- This is something I’ve meant to pick up and try for ages but I seem to have so many primers. I forgot my massive stash at home and bought it anyway and again something which I am finding myself choosing quite often. This feels like part moisturiser and part primer as it is a creamy primer as opposed to a silicone based one. My skin always feels great and hydrated after using this and it doesn’t cause any redness to appear like some primers do.
Kari Gran Peppermint Lip Whip- I am super rubbish at using lip balms and things but this one is a bit different. Firstly the lip whip is really creamy and of course smells heavily of peppermint (which is incredible) but it lasts so well. Usually, I put balm on and half an hour later my lips don’t feel nourished but the staying power of this is incredible with my lips feeling soft and moisturised hours after applying. I really want to put this in my handbag to use when travelling etc but then I’m worried I won’t use it in the mornings so I might need to grab a second one.
Anastasia Beverley Hills Liquid Lipstick- I bought four of these while away, although I wish I had got even more because these are the best liquid lipsticks I’ve used. The formula glides on really well with enough product on one wand to cover the lips, it’s quite liquidy when you apply it so you can move it around but then it dries pretty quickly and super matte. Compared to other liquid lipsticks they don’t feel dry or heavy, in fact most of the time I assume it has rubbed off as I don’t feel like I am wearing it but it’s still there. The longevity of them are incredible. Out of the four I bought the nude Aston and the lilac tinged pink Dusty Rose are my go to favourites.
Belif Aqua Bomb Moisturiser- Unless you haven’t cottoned on my now my skin is prone to dry spells and I’m always on the look out for something which is super enriched with moisture so the words ‘aqua bomb’ were hard to ignore with this Belif cream. The cream is definitely thick and creamy but takes no longer than a minute to sink into my skin, quite unusual for something so packed with hydration. I’ve been using this every night and have definitely noticed my skin feels less dry in the mornings.
