So many people have written about and reviewed mail forwarding companies- mainly to cover the hefty cost of shipping US products to the UK, or for those products which you just can’t ship over here. I had been debating for ages whether to do this but the price just put me off as there was never anything I wanted that badly.
I got excited by the prospect of ColourPop shipping to the UK but I saw shipping was over $25 and then I’d probably get stuck with customs charges as well I didn’t feel it was worth it. When a friend mentioned MyMallBox I checked out the prices and it seemed really reasonable so I thought I’d order a few items and just see how it goes.
The great thing about MyMallBox is that they can combine a few packages into one shipment to the UK which means only one shipping charge and only one potential customs charge. And the best thing is they don’t charge for this service.
Next stop was to browse the internet. The main thing I looked for with where I ordered my products from was where offered free US shipping as I didn’t want to pay shipping twice. The first thing I tried to do was to pick up some bits from Sephora including another Anastasia Beverley Hills liquid lipstick (Definite obsession as this post shows) but Sephora don’t seem to want to ship to the Mymallbox address as I had three separate orders cancelled which was a shame.
Next I decided to order a few bits from Bath and Bodyworks as I am obsessed with their hand sanitizers (and even paying their shipping is still cheaper than the ones I’ve seen on eBay). I was really conscious about not even looking at the candles as I knew the weight would work out expensive to ship but I did pick up a mini of their Halloween pumpkin one as I am obsessed with the scent.
I’ve never tried Jeffree Star Cosmetics, merely because the shades I like the look of are always out of stock on Beauty Bay/ Cocktail Cosmetics/ Beautylish who either ship to the UK or are based in the UK so I decided to buy a few bits through Morphe which had every single shade in (decision making was hard!) Of course I couldn’t make a US order and not grab a few Colourpop goodies. As I’ve had plenty of time to try the bits I bought when I was in the States in July I knew I needed a few more liquid lipsticks and some more eyeshadows so I made an order up to $35 (when you get free shipping) plus there was a deal on where I got two free liquid lipsticks with my purchase.
I hadn’t originally planned to buy any Mac but after cancelled Sephora orders I decided I was going to grab bits to start my first customizable palette as the eyeshadow inserts are only $6 in the US. I chose about six shades and then I bought the case and inserts and I’m really happy with my choices. This concluded my US orders.
I didn’t want to go too over the top as I wasn’t sure what the weight would be but the great thing is they’ll hold onto them for free for 90 days so I can see what the weights are when MyMallBox receive them and can always make a few more orders before having it sent over. Once I was happy I had everything I wanted I consolidated my order and chose my shipping option. I chose the cheapest tracked option and it ended up taking less than 7 days to arrive to me, which was great, and even better no customs charges. Looking at the costs the colourpop UK shipping would have been about what I paid from Mymallbox on it’s own and that’s without the Mac eyeshadow inserts being more expensive, having the issues of shade ordering of Jeffree Star and struggling with the bath and bodyworks stuff.
