During the festive break I had a massive clear out of all of my makeup and managed to get rid of quite a bit. Of course my mum got first dibs on anything she wanted, but the clear out left my makeup collection looking more streamlined and I kept only a handful of those maybe I’ll use it one day kind of products. Of course having a clear out means I have spare for even more make up, that’s definitely how it works. I’m trying to make better decisions about the products I buy and not buy things which are too samey which is where my wishlist has come from.
When I was clearing out my makeup I had to put my Nars foundation aside as it’s just a bit too dark for my face but I don’t want to get rid of it quite yet. I’ve been meaning to grab some of the NYX pro foundation mixer for ages but I want to give this a go with my foundation to see if it works before admitting defeat and throwing it away. The NYX stand at my local Boots is shocking, so many gaps and it never seems to have the latest products so when I’m next in Selfridges or a larger Boots in London I am going to keep a look out for this.
I have been lusting over this palette for absolute ages now but still can’t bring myself to spend £40 on an eyeshadow palette. I know one day I’ll own this, and I might weep when I do, but it’s just so stunning. I hear so many people rave about the formula of these shadows and the day I can try them out for myself will be a happy day.
One part of my skincare routine which never wavers is moisurizing, I do it every morning when I get out of the shower and let it sink in for about half an hour before I do my makeup. Over the years’ I’ve tried so many creams but the indulgent one I’ve always wanted to try is the magic cream from Charlotte Tilbury but I’ve never been able to justify £70 on a cream. As I am trying to stream line my skincare and use up what I have before purchasing anything new I am hoping in a few months’ time once I’ve used up some bits I can convince myself to invest in this.
I only really own two proper foundations since my clear out so I am in need for something new. I absolutely love the Urban Decay naked concealer so it seems only logical to try out the foundation version. Lots of people have said it’s good for dry skin which is perfect for me as I do suffer from the odd dry patch.
In the past few months I have seen this foundation everywhere from blog posts galore to recommendations when I asked out to the community. I’ve fallen down before and bought foundations without taking away a trial so I definitely want to go and get colour matched and try a sample of this foundation to see how it looks and feels on my skin.
I realized I don’t actually own a huge amount of eyeshadow palette’s so this is an area which I want to expand as the ones I own now are well displayed and much easier to find and use. I have been meaning to try out something from the Zoeva collection for ages but I don’t tend to like buying too much makeup without swatching it or at least seeing it in the flesh. Next weekend I am heading to Selfridges so I plan on checking out the eyeshadow palette’s there so I can work out which one I want to add to my collection.
I’ve only tried blushers in the Tarte collection so because I’ve been focused on eyeshadow palettes recently and most of this wishlist seems to be focused on them I thought I’d a Tarte one in. This palette is pretty much my standard go to shades and I love that the whole palette is matte. There’s a few darker shades so I can see if I’m able to nail that smokey look as opposed to looking like I’ve got a black eye.
