Four Ways To Make Your Valentines Day Special

Posted in Lifestyle
Valentines

Regardless of whether you’re spending 14th February with a partner or with your best girl pals it’s easy to make the day special and filled with love. At this moment in time I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing on the day itself and it’s pretty exciting but here are some of the best things you can do with whoever you’re planning on spending the day with.

Make your own stay at home package

Much like Tangle Angel* who sent me a Valentines’ Day Package you can make your own. My little package included some Hotel Chocolat goodies which you can share with your loved one, a lush bath bomb and a cute little box of vouchers which you can give to someone in exchange for breakfast in bed, a romantic weekend away or a back massage. I always think these vouchers are super cute and have been meaning to grab some for ages. You can create your own little package and include all the things you’d need for a nice evening in perhaps include a movie in there, your favourite treats, a voucher for your favourite takeaway so you can order in or some pamper goodies depending on how you’re going to spend your evening.

Go to a spa or create your own

While it would be amazing to have a proper pampering spa experience, realistically with the day falling on a Tuesday this might not be possible as who really has spare days holiday floating around?! I know I don’t. If you do then book yourself into a spa and enjoy a couple’s massage and champagne on arrival with your partner, or manicures and afternoon tea with your best girlfriends. If going out to the spa just isn’t practical you can bring the spa to you with face masks, cucumber eye masks, a manicure set, body scrub and plenty of Lush goodies to fill your bath.

Pizza Oven

Have dinner in and make your own pizza’s

I’m pretty sure most restaurants or at least nice ones will be super booked up in advance of the big day but who says you need to go out to have a fun night?! One of the best things you can do is make dinner with whoever you’re spending the evening with. Pizza’s are always a fun thing to make as you can customize them and have fun watching each others’ crazy concoctions, or fairly safe if you’re me. If you want an authentic experience why not grab a table top pizza oven* which cooks your pizza’s in just 7 minutes and will look pretty cool on your dinner table?! Me and my other half gave this a go a few weeks’ ahead of Valentines Day to make our own garlic bread as we’re both obsessed with super garlicky food and they came out absolutely amazing. Included in the set are 4 insulating stainless steel cooking spatula’s which mean there’s a slim to none chance that your food will go splat as you’re trying to remove it from the oven. The set was so easy to use and it’s such a good price considering how much use you can get out of it.

Have a movie marathon

Chances are cinemas will be pretty busy on Valentines Day full, especially as the new Fifty Shades movie is out so why not have your own movie evening in where you can make it perfect. If you’re with your girls pick a selection of chick flicks like John Tucker Must Die and Grease, or if you’re with your other half why not watch each of your favourite movies to make the evening super special?! You can light some candles, have the biggest mound of goodies to eat (Maltesers and Popcorn are always a good shout!) and just lounge around on the sofa. At least it’s acceptable to wear lounge pants or PJ’s at home, it’s less practical if you’re heading out to the movies.
