For the past seven or so years’ I’ve celebrated Galentine’s day as opposed to the traditional Valentine’s Day and while I’d always like to look my best my friends are not going to look down on me if my nail varnish is chipped or my hair just doesn’t look right. This year is a little different and I’m being taken out to a restaurant and despite it being tomorrow I still don’t know where we’re going but I’m making an effort with my appearance. I’m not generally a dress wearer, opting for the comfort of jeans and band tees on most occasions so I thought I’d make an effort and I bought a beautiful new dress. Now it’s all well and good having a dress, but if I’m not looking my absolute best then it just won’t work. Other people probably wouldn’t pick up on the fact that my eyebrows need a shape or that the corner of my nail varnish has gone astray but I notice these things, and ultimately I want to look good for myself to feel good.
Treatwell is an app where you can book all of your beauty treatments from manicures and haircuts, to massages and facials, and pretty much everything in between. I know the pain I’ve had before when trying to book in for a nail appointment having to waste my precious lunch break to call up and work something out. Well this is a thing of the past as with Treatwell you can book an appointment for pretty much anything you could want through an app at any time of the day.
While not all salons and beauty parlors can be booked through the app there’s still plenty of choice, and I found a number of places within my area so when browsing the app late at night when I’m most awake and productive I decided to see what I could get squeezed in. Most of my bookings were made last Wednesday evening which didn’t give me long to book things considering a lot of salons shut Sunday’s and I work until 5.30pm but I managed it.
The first thing I decided to do to get Valentine’s Day ready was to book myself in for an eyebrow shape. I’ll hold my hands up and admit that one of the things I love about having a fringe is how little of my eyebrows are on show, in honesty they’re a mess and I have been meaning to get them done. I managed to find a salon less than a 10-minute walk from my work which had an appointment for 5.45pm on Monday. Within seconds I had booked in, paid for it and had received my confirmation.
I do my own nails with the aid of a UV lamp but of course I’m no professional and while they do tend to last 10 days- 2 weeks this was something I wanted done ready for Valentine’s Day as there’s nothing worse for me than holding hands and staring down to find a chipped nail so that was a definite book in. I’ve previously had laser on my bikini area and while it’s had less grow back there has been some so a Hollywood wax would have been great but no one’s coming near my intimate areas with wax, no way!
It isn’t just basic everyday beauty treatments you can book there’s even spa days & spa breaks you can book including a selection of 2 for 1 Spa Days currently and up to 50% off hair removal and up to 30% off off-peak manicure’s to help everyone else get Valentine’s Day ready.
Have you treated yourself to any treatments recently?
