I have an absolutely huge makeup collection and I know I don’t need to buy new things but sometimes they just creep into my online baskets or jump into my hands in shops and I just can’t help myself. Surely this happens to everyone right?! Because of this my collection is a bit mental and I really do try to use everything or at least alternate things, but there’s always those go to products which I can not be without. Below are some of my holy grail items, not just the things I love, but those things which I’d re-buy when I’m running low just to make sure I’m never without.
Too Faced Hangover Face Primer
I’ve used primer religiously for a long time and tried so many brands it’s crazy, I used to be a Porefessional girl through and through and used to use up so many tubes I probably kept Benefit going but ever since trying the Too Faced Hangover Face Primer last Summer I’m never going back. I have quite dry skin on occasion so I like it when a primer doesn’t have an overly silicon feeling and the Too Faced one is really hydrating and feels more like a cream than a primer. It’s all in the name really, if you’re hungover you need hydration and nutrients which is exactly what this primer does. I love the pump top bottle which it has and find one pump is pretty much enough to cover my whole face. I’d really like a travel sized version of this for those short trips/ hand luggage only trips and can’t wait until I can get my hands on one.
Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer
Concealer is probably one of the most important parts to my beauty regime as I tend to have quite bad under eye circles, although they are getting better. There are quite a few I’ve used which are pretty good but I find most are either too light and don’t cover much, or are too heavy looking and leave me with that cakey look. Fortunately, the Urban Decay Naked Concealer is weightless like it says in its name and blends really well into my skin so it never looks cakey or over the top and I find the colour variety great. This is another product which feels slightly hydrating and one bottle seems to go a long long way.
Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner in Trooper
Eyeliner is the other biggest part of my makeup routine and something I feel pretty naked without. Over the years I’ve tried liquid, pencil, and gel and probably gone through most of the major brands until I discovered the Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner about two years’ ago. Ever since then I have tried a few others but nothing has enamored me as much as this one, so much so that I’m on about my third one, I have the brown, and there’s always a mini in my handbag just in case. Very occasionally you can get a dud one where with the colour payout isn’t jet black like it should be, or it doesn’t last all day and I am very quick to defend the eyeliner and say it’s a blip. I can hand on my heart say as a felt tip liner it’s the easiest thing I’ve ever used to draw on my eyeliner and it’s so long lasting it’s been through tropic temperatures in the States and water rides at Theme Parks with no issues.
Too faced Better Than Sex Mascara
Another additional from Too Faced, who to be honest were a brand I’d never really tried before last summer *bad blogger*. Most of the time when I try a new mascara I rave about it for a few weeks then find something better and just jump ship with no real loyalty for the brand or formula, that is until I first used this mascara. The twisted shaped brush seems to work perfectly on my lashes and it’s something which genuinely makes my lashes more voluminous, something which can be hard to notice when yo wear so much eyeliner. This mascara is so good it even made it into the top six items I couldn’t live without.
Anastasia Beverley Hills Liquid Lipstick
I actually could not pick a particular shade as there are too many beautiful and wearable options but if I had to use just one liquid lipstick then this would be the formula. I’ve raved so much about it and it came out number one in my top liquid lipsticks. The colour payout is stunning, there are so many shades to suit all skin tones and the lasting power is pretty amazing (a good 7-9 hours and it can last through certain foods as well). Catnip, Dusty Rose, Ashton and Kathryn are particular favourites of mine as for once ABH are a brand with plenty of pink shades which suit me.
