Oh look what I surprise, I headed to Paris and went into Sephora, like anyone is surprised. The only thing that surprised me was what I spent, partly due to the fact that I didn’t bother attempting the huge one on the Champs Elysse as it’s always just too busy so I settled for a smaller one by our hotel. For me one of the novelties of going away is seeing what goodies I can find and while I mostly stick to the Sephora own brand as most other things I can buy it’s always good to explore. Last time I went to Sephora in Paris I was never reserved, not like when I went crazy in New York.
This time when I headed to the French capital I also went to the City Pharmacy which I had heard so much about which is the huge double level store with cut priced French branded products, now I knew I didn’t need much having only just had a clear out but I couldn’t resist checking out their treats.
In Sephora, the first three items I bought were all own brand including a Sephora Pomegranate Sheet Mask because I absolutely love their sheet masks and find them really refreshing and two brand new items. The first was the Sephora Charcoal Micellar Cleansing Water, now I keep seeing beauty items with Charcoal in them and I’m very intrigued so I thought I’d buy some micellar water as I use so much of it. The second newbie item was the Sephora Yuzu Face And Eye Cleansing Cream, I love this scent as I’ve used the makeup wipes and I bought a cleansing cream would be a good addition to my collection, no other rhyme or reason.
Next up were three makeup products, now I know you can buy Kat Von D in the UK but I have found the Liquid Lipstick in Lovecraft to be sold out quite often so when I saw an abundance of them I thought I’d whack one in my basket. Plus it didn’t really work out much different in price. I love this formula of liquid lipstick and the shade is such a pretty pink/ mauve. The next item was a mini of the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara which I know works out so much more expensive than buying a full size but these are absolutely great for traveling with and I have not found the mini’s in the UK. This is my absolute favourite mascara so I knew I had to replace my old travel one.
The final thing which fell in my basket was a Sephora Eyeshadow in shade Tahitian Pearl. I bought my first own brand eyeshadow a few month’s ago and I’ve found them really good, they’re well pigmented, have very little fall out of colour and they last really well considering their price. Last time I opted for quite a neutral bronze so this time I went for quite a lot of shimmer and I’m very happy with the shade.
Next up was my trip to the City Pharmacy. I had heard quite a lot of things about this place being pretty busy and considering it was about 11am on a Wednesday morning there was a lot of people with a few empty spots where presumably items had been swiped early. I didn’t need anything at all but I thought I’d take a look at some of the French brands I knew to see what they had.
The first thing which dropped into my basket was Bioderma Anti- Transparent deodorant because A/ I’ve heard great things about Bioderma, 2/ Everyone needs deodorant, and C/ it was about 4 euro’s so it felt like an easy decision. Next up I had to buy a Bioderma H20 Micellar Water because so many people seem to rave about it and while I’d never spend £12+ on a bottle, 8 euro’s didn’t seem too bad. I have used this once before and I don’t remember being blown away but I want to give it a proper chance this time.
Of course, I had to buy something from Caudalie so I picked up this gorgeous smelling shower gel because it’s another staple product that you’ll always need and I knew it wouldn’t just sit in my drawers like some skincare products end up doing.
Sering as apparently I had a micellar water obsession during Paris I picked up a mini of the La Roche- Posay Ultra Micellar Water to try out. I know this is a brand who do sell quite easily in the UK as I’ve seen them in Boots so if I like this I know I can pick it up at home. I don’t know much about this item but the previous La Roche- Posay item I’ve used I’ve loved so why not.
My final item was another from Caudalie and it was their Make-Up Removing Cleansing Oil which is designed to just rub make-up off when you massage it over your eyes or face. I wear quite a lot of make-up so I’m always impressed with anything that claims to remove tough and heavy make-up and being a small bottle I know it will be handy for travelling.
