I haven’t done a tag post in such a long time so when Lou from Withlovefromlou tagged me in the ’50 Questions You’ve Never Been Asked’ tag it was a good chance to have some fun with a post and interact with a tag again.
A lot of these questions are pretty unique and not one’s I’ve seen on a lot of tags flying around so here are some unique things you might not know about me.
01. What’s your favorite candle scent?
It has to be gingerbread, I have so many candles in this scent that it’s crazy but they don’t work as well in the summertime. During Autumn and Winter it pretty much smells like Christmas and fresh baking constantly as my gingerbread candles are burning.
02. What female celebrity do you wish was your sister?
I would probably say, Anna Kendrick, as I think she’s absolutely hilarious so I know she’d be great to keep me happy and she seems like a really passionate loyal person so I know she’d have my back whenever.
03. What male celebrity do you wish was your brother?
I think I’d like a musician for a brother, someone like Tom Fletcher from McFly as I think he’d make my life so much more interesting. I could be a part of his YouTube video’s and I’d have the cutest neice and nephew. Plus I’d get to hang around with the band and all his cool friend’s all the time.
04. How old do you think you’ll be when you get married?
I have absolutely no idea as to whether I will get married, or indeed how old I’ll be. When I was a kid I used to think I would be married by the time I was 25 but that passed long ago. I’d love to get married one day but only because both me and the other person felt it was right for us and they wanted to as well, I’d hate to feel like someone else was getting married for my benefit.
05. Do you know a hoarder?
To be honest my dad can be a bit of a hoarder and he loves saying things ‘just in case’. I can be quite unsentimental and I throw away quite a lot. I’m always having Spring cleans and while I probably keep more than I should I’m not a hoarder.
06. Can you do the splits?
Hahaha, no. I’ve never been a flexible person and I can’t even touch my toes without bending my knees so the splits is a long way off for me.
07. How old were you when you first learned how to ride a bike?
I never learned to ride a bike when I was a kid. I think because I never showed any interest in having a bike my parents didn’t get me one which lead to me never learning. Sometimes I wish I could ride one (like when I was in Hawaii and the group cycled to a volcano and I stayed back in the van), but other times I don’t feel too bad about it.
08. How many oceans have you swum in?
This is quite hard to answer as islands like Crete and Cyprus where I have swum out in the sea have not been technically oceans but things like the Mediterrian Sea. I have swum in the Pacific when I was in California but I don’t know an exact amount.
09. How many countries have you been to?
Having a quick count I believe it’s 24 if you’re counting various Greek islands as just Greece as opposed to their islands. If so I’ve done Egypt and Morocco in Africa, and both Canada and The United States of America. Then in Europe, I’ve been to Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Malta, Northern Ireland, Poland, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, The Netherlands, The Vatican, and Wales. I absolutely love travelling and am always wanting to explore more places across the world.
10. Is anyone in your family in the army?
Currently, no although some of my great-grandparents were during the War.
11. What would you name your daughter if you had one?
I have absolutely no idea, it’s not really something I’ve ever thought about although I think I’d want something not overly common but also easy to spell as I know the pain I’ve been through.
12. What would you name your son if you had one?
Pretty much the same response as above, it’s not something I’ve thought into as I don’t think I want kids.
13. What’s the worst grade you’ve got on a test?
I received an E in my AS Level Maths Statistics exam. It’s the only thing that I’ve ever failed in my life and I absolutely hate that I actually chose this subject as I know I could have done a whole lot better if I’d chosen a more bookey subject.
14. What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
I used to absolutely love Friends – and I still do – and it was something I always used to watch as a kid. If we’re talking really young then probably something like Playdays.
15. What did you dress up as for Halloween when you were 8?
When I was a kid I always dressed up as a witch, it was pretty much my go to costume. Black clothing, cape, hat, and broom. I think it’s just because my parents weren’t massive fans of dressing up and this was easy.
16. Have you read any of the Harry Potter, Hunger Games or Twilight series?
I have read all of the Harry Potter and Twilight books but I’ve not yet tried the Hunger Games ones even though I do own them.
17. Would you rather have an American accent or a British accent?
America and British are just so vast that it’s too hard to make a decision as there are some American accounts I don’t really like, but others I love, and the same is true for British accents. I’d probably just say British because then I could keep my current accent.
18. Did your mother go to university?
No she didn’t. No one in my family had ever really gone to university before me
19. Are your grandparents still married?
Sadly I only have one grandparent on each side, but until their other halves passed away they were both married
20. Have you ever taken karate lessons?
No I’ve never taken karate lessons. When I was a kid I didn’t take any classes, no ballet or sports classes as exercise just wasn’t my thing.
21. Do you know who Kermit the frog is?
I really hope this is a trick question as I can’t believe that anyone would not know who Kermit the Frog is. The Muppets are such a staple part of life that I’d be ashamed if anyone didn’t.
22. What was the first amusement park you went to?
I think it was Thorpe Park because I remember a photo of me with my family on loggers leap, although we might have been to a small local one when I was much younger. I love amusement parks and am such a thrill seeker that I’ll go on any ride there is.
23. What language beside your native language would you like to be fluent in?
I think French or Spanish would be the two which would have the most benefit to them from the places that I travel to but also them being very universal languages as well. I can pick out odd words in French from studying it at GCSE so I can just about read a menu, but I can’t speak it.
24. Do you spell the colour grey or gray?
I spell it grey as in my mind the other version is quite American.
25. Is your father bald?
No he isn’t and he has such a good head of hair for his age, and he’s not really that grey.
26. Do you know any triplets?
No I don’t actually thinking about it.
27. Do you prefer Titanic or The Notebook?
I’d have to say The Notebook as I’ve never managed to watch the Titanic the whole way through. In all honesty neither are really my kind of movies as they’re a bit too soppy for me. I do love a good rom-com but not a massive deal like these two.
28. Have you ever had Indian food?
I’ve tried it once but I’m not a fan as I don’t like spicy foods, and I’m not a huge fan of food with loads of sauce on it. I know my friend wants to take me out for a good Indian so I can make a proper decision but I’m not holding any hopes up for it.
29. What’s the name of your favourite restaurant?
I don’t think I have a favourite restaurant, just ones I go to more often, and generally, that’s due to convenience and location. I’d say Maxwells in Covent Garden is up there with my favourites though.
30. Have you ever been to Nandos?
Of course I have, I have it quite often, usually once or twice a month and generally that’s because the food is so tasty, you know you can get served quickly if you’re out and there is one only 5 mins from my flat which take away.
31. Do you belong to any warehouse stores (Costco, Bookers, etc.)?
My dad has actually just started a new job at Bookers so I will be a member very soon when he signs me up. We used to go to both Costco and Bookers when I was younger but I know I’ll need to restrain myself if I go now.
32. What would your parents have named you if you were the opposite gender?
When we’ve spoken about it before I think they said Nicholas, although I have no idea where that name came from, the relevance and then why my brother who came 16 months later wasn’t called Nicholas.
33. If you have a nickname, what is it?
My other half calls me Ri Ri, which is also what my brother used to call me when I was a kid as he couldn’t say my name properly when he was really young. I never really had a nickname when I was growing up though.
34. Who’s your favourite person in the world?
It’s so hard to just pick one person but if I had to I’d say my mum because my mum’s amazing.
35. Would you rather live in the countryside or the city?
It would have to be the city. While I do love the countryside it’s more of a novelty and I couldn’t be that far away from the hustle and bustle of everything going on. I’ve always lived in a city my whole life with close proximity to London and I don’t think I could lose that.
36. Can you whistle?
Just about, although very badly.
37. Do you sleep with a nightlight?
Nope, I sleep in complete darkness (unless there’s a bit of light coming from the window). I don’t think I could help with a nightlight.
38. Do you eat breakfast every morning?
I try to eat breakfast every morning and usually it happens even if it’s just a slice of toast or a cereal bar, but I want to make more of an effort with making proper healthy hearty breakfasts.
39. Do you take any pills or medication daily?
Thankfully no as I know I’d forget some days.
40. What medical conditions do you have?
I have a tendency towards epilepsy which fortunately I seem to have grown out of but I had it when I was a kid. Thankfully I was never put on medication otherwise it would have affected me learning to drive.
41. How many times have you been to the hospital?
A few, two or three times as a kid to do with my epilepsy, once with a broken arm and once to get stitches in my knee when I cut it.
42. Have you ever seen Finding Nemo?
Yes, I have and I absolutely love it. It came out when I was the right age of really understanding Pixar movies, and when Finding Dory came out last year I queued for a few hours at Glastonbury to be one of the first people to see it.
43. Where do you buy your jeans?
I really want to buy a decent proper pair of jeans so suggestions on a postcard. Most of mine currently either come from New Look or Primark and they tend to be high waisted skinnies.
44. What’s the last compliment you got?
I don’t actually remember what that would have been, probably my other half saying I looked really nice before we went out for a meal.
45. Do you usually remember your dreams in the morning?
Not very often, occasionally I’ll wake up and remember little snippets but this doesn’t happen very often.
46. What flavour tea do you enjoy?
I’m not a huge fan of normal tea so I tend to drink peppermint when there’s a choice, or sometimes some sort of fruity herbal tea.
47. How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?
Far more than I need, I’d say between work shoes, heels, boots, trainers and my normal shoes about 45 or so, and this is after a massive cull of shoes recently where I threw away a load of heels I knew I’d never wear again.
48. What religion will you raise your children to practice?
As I am not religious I don’t think I’d raise them in any particular way. If they’re interested in religion when they’re older that’s absolutely fine but I wouldn’t want to raise them in a faith I didn’t practice.
49. How old were you when you found out that Santa wasn’t real?
It was reasonably early about 6/7 because I heard my parent’s bringing all of my presents downstairs in my nan’s house. Although I played along and didn’t tell them I knew for quite a few year’s as I had a younger brother and I didn’t want him to find out.
50. Why do you have a blog?
I have a blog because I was doing a lot of freelance writing for companies and suppliers where I would always be following a brief and I wanted to have somewhere that I could write anything I wanted. I wrote the odd post every now and then but I say I properly started it around two year’s ago when there was more than one post every few months.
And there you have it, my 50 questions tag, I’d now like to tag:
Sally Akins, Helen Costello at 2 Adults 3 Children, Jen at Just Average Jen, Nicola Hamilton at Sparkles At Midnight, Rhiannon Pepper at Cats and Contours, Rachel Spiteri at Beauty And The Bird, Kamilia at Kamz Online, Sky Jones, Rebecca at Meadow Daisy, Luisa-Christie, Kate Clark at Confessions Of A New Mummy, Tanya Brannan at Secret Plus Sized Goddess, Natalie at Crazy Little Thing Called Love and finally Lynsey Ward at Mummy That’s Me.
