When I went on my beach holiday to Crete earlier this year I was very unprepared when it came to footwear. I had some flip flops when ended up staining my feet blue from the heat, and some cheap Primark sandals which hurt so much I couldn’t wear them after the first night. As soon as I came home I purchased three pairs of shoe’s which have made the past few week’s of warm weather so much more pleasant.
Dorothy Perkins Tan Sandals
Around the May bank holiday weekend, I was browsing around on the House of Fraser website and found some beautiful brown tan sandals. I’m not a fan of sandals which have anything between the toes as they’re just uncomfortable and due to the excess of black I usually wear I was drawn to these as they were a little different. There’s a thick tan strap which goes across the top of the foot with two smaller straps above the toes one which is a gold material and one which has a print on it, and there’s a thin tan strap which curves around the ankle with a buckle. Considering I am not really a sandal wearer and tend to live in my vans these are super comfortable and I wore them for hours without them hurting.
Office elastic sandals
I wanted a quick, easy pair of sandals, something I could slip on and off easily if I was going to a beach or something as opposed to having to battle with buckles and these elastic sandals from Office are perfect. They have a lot of give in the straps but keep their shape when on which is perfect, and due to the material they’re very lightweight and don’t stick to your feet when you get a bit sweaty.
After my Accessorize flip flops failing me I decided to look into Havaianas’s as they’re such an iconic brand for flip flops and I was pleasantly surprised at how reasonably priced they were, mine cost me just £18 which was far less than I’d expected. I actually bought mine from Schuh as I loved the purple and pink patterning on these and the little flower which hangs from the strap is such a cute addition. They’re noticeably more comfortable than other flip flops and having walked around for a few hours with them on I didn’t notice the bits between my toe’s rubbing so I am hoping this carries on.
The only problem I find with wearing sandals and open shoes all the time is that my feet don’t always look their best, but that’s when Beauty Feet* come in for when I’m at home or at work when I’m in closed toe shoes. On the outside they look like an ordinary pair of black socks – comfy ones at that – but there’s something hidden away inside and that’s an integrated heel pad which is designed to moisturize and nourish your feet leaving them super soft all day long. So when you’ve been wearing sandals or going barefoot and your feet are a little cracked/ damaged you can pop a pair of these on and notice results after just one wear.
