I feel a bit like a broken record when I keep going on about how quickly the year is going but my god how is September over?! I am already getting super excited for the festive period (apologises if that scares anyone) but I’m living for the cooler weather and the chance to put on candles and drink hot chocolate.
I have more hand creams than anyone could ever need because until recently I pretty much never used them. I recently got the Mango Hand Cream from The Body Shop which smells absolutely incredible and because I have been pulling it out of my bag and putting it on my desk at work I’ve found myself using it an awful lot. I do find being sat in a large open planned office with air conditioning can dry out my hands so taking out a few seconds to pop on some hand cream has been so nice. I don’t think this one is going to last a whole lot longer so I need to start digging out my other tubes.
A few months ago I picked up some Clarins items when they had a great gift with purchase deal on and one of the mini’s I got was the Hydra-Essential Bi-Phase Serum which I’ve been using pretty much every day since. I was drawn in by the intensive moisture promise and it’s been great with hydrating my skin and stopping it from looking dull. I’ve been using it in the morning after cleansing and before putting on my moisturiser and it’s kept my skin looking and feeling fresh. I’m running very low on my sample so I’m going to have to buy a full size soon.
The new Colour:Vibe hair dye collections* from Boots have got me very excited to trying another hair colour. I’ve been using the Warm Copper Gold Conditioning Shampoo which has been helping to keep my dyed hair vibrant (as much as is possible with red). Since starting to use this I’ve discovered their new range of Colour:Vibe silver colours which feature a whole range of silvers from deep denim to bright silvers and it’s got me really excited about the possibility of trying something different with my hair. When I was a teenager I dyed my hair loads but in my twenties I’ve only really done red (other than an ill-fated dark purple attempt) but the Denim Blue and Charcoal look like dark enough shades that I’d love to try especially as the dyes have conditioning ingredients like Marula Oil and Honey to keep the hair looking healthy and shiny.
Whenever I’m using hair dye or putting on a good conditioning hair treatment I always have to use hair clips and grips and the really big hair clips from Scunci have been a godsend on my hair. I’ve got a few more bits from them to try which is more geared towards evening hair styles which I can’t wait to try out.
For the past 3 weeks or so we’ve been trialling out Gousto Meals to help us with meal planning during the week. We’d had Gousto meals once before in the past and having done it properly for a few weeks I can see the appeal in having them as a regular thing. The first thing I love is the choice of recipes to choose from has been great and even though Luke’s pretty fussy with food we’ve had loads of options. Another great thing is how each individual item is separated out to give you the exact right portion that you need so there’s no wastage (something I’m awful at), and the portion sizes are really good and help us to control our portion sizes. Finally, the quality of the food itself is so good that we’ve loved everything we’ve made.
Next up are these Glamorous tortoiseshell and gold hexagonal hoop earrings from ASOS which I have worn so much of in September. Over the past few months I have been loving hoop and drop earrings and taking advantage of all my piercings and these ones are my current favourites. They’re really lightweight so they don’t hurt after a long day of wearing them and the tortoiseshell is just beautiful.
The final thing I’ve been loving in September is the TV show ‘The Circle’ on Channel 4. It’s a reality show where contestants live in a block of flats but only communicate through a social media network and it’s really interesting to see whose themselves, who is a catfish and how people differ online vs reality. I’ve been totally hooked on this and even though it’s on 6 nights a week I’ve been able to keep totally up to date.
