That’s it, 2018 is over in the blink of an eye and we’re left with the aftermath of Christmas and perhaps the toughest month of all for most people. I am a fan of January as it’s my birthday this month but at the moment I’m still looking back to what I loved about December 2018. It seems for December there are less physical items which is quite a change, but check out what I picked out.
Sanctuary Spa Body Scrub
I’m trying to get into using body scrub more as my skin seems to be craving a bit of exfoliating scrub and I’ve been loving using the Sanctuary Spa offering. I bought a few sets in the run up to Christmas just to treat myself and this has been the stand out product for me as it definitely feels like it’s exfoliates and cleans the skin well without feeling like it’s scrubbing off every layer of my skin. I don’t use this every single day but I mix it in with my normal shower gel. At this time of the year I do find that my skin needs a bit of extra TLC in order to stay in good shape and it’s one of my biggest resolutions of 2019 to maintain a good routine.
Monica Vinader Linear Stone Ring
At the end of November I picked up my first Monica Vinader item from Bicester Village during my first trip there and I bought a beautiful rose gold linear stone set ring with an Amazonite blue stone. I have worn this ring every single day since getting it which is pretty impressive for me when it comes to rings as I usually switch them up quite often or forget to put anything on. It’s such an unusual style of ring which is what I love, the band itself is quite thick so it’s a really comfortable fit and doesn’t dig into my finger. Then the stone itself sits up quite high but the style and colour and absolutely stunning. Ever since getting this ring I have become a little obsessed with Monica Vinader and got another ring and a pair of earrings for Christmas so it’s becoming a little collection now.
Cineworld Unlimited Cards
The brand new Cineworld opened in Watford in mid December and me and Luke went along to the grand opening where we got to watch Aquaman in the Imax Laser screen which was incredible, especially as it’s one of only three screens like it in the country. Having a cinema in the town centre of Watford is well overdue and I remember them talking about it when I was a kid so it’s nice to finally see it happen. Me and Luke bought our unlimited cards near the end of the month and I’ve already managed to catch four movies with it including Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse, Bumble bee and Mary Poppins. As we have annual passes I can’t wait to make use of this throughout the next year when we’re saving like mad for our house as this will be our regular date night.
I tried to watch a few new Christmas movies this year and finally watched White Christmas which was really nice but you can tell it’s quite an old movie. I’ve also watched a few of the new movies on Netflix including ‘The Princess Swap’ and ‘The Christmas Prince’ which although predictable were really good movies. I also spent some of December reacquainting myself with some of my favourite movies including Love Actually and The Nightmare Before Christmas, both of which are classics for me.
Having me time in the evenings
At the end of November Luke started playing the new Fallout game which involved him playing alongside a few friends some evenings and having him using the main living room TV has encouraged me to spend more relaxing time in the bedroom. I’d usually spend hours on my laptop in the evening right up until bed but during December I would spend 1-2 hours lounging in the bedroom having some me time including putting on face masks, finally getting around to using body lotion, watching movies I’d not gotten around to seeing and reading. It’s been so nice to take a step back and have some proper relaxation time so I’m going to try and incorporate this into as many evenings as I can.
What were you loving in December?
