How I’ve Been Saving Money Shopping With Shoptagr

Flatly of notebook and phone showing Shoptagr

There’s no way to sugarcoat the fact that I love to shop. It’s always been a passion of mine, I used to love going into the shops and coming back laden with bags. But now it’s more clicking away on the laptop and keeping the postie in a job. Due to the house saving I’ve really really been trying to shop less. And while this has certainly happened I can’t stop altogether, I am human! Plus I keep seeing cute things which would work well in the house that we don’t yet have.

I am very much a savvy shopper though. If it’s a product that I think I can find cheaper by shopping around then I’ll find the best deal on it. I’m the kind of person who hates paying full price for something and I use this across all shopping. If I need some new beauty items I’ll hang on until one of the sites has a voucher promo, or a gift with purchase. Or if it’s a larger item I’ll try and wait to see when it goes on sale. And that’s how Shoptagr has really helped me to save money while shopping.

What is Shoptagr?

Shoptagr is an app which allows you to save all of the items you love in one place. From clothing and accessories through to home ware and tech, whatever you’re looking to purchase.

You can then choose for Shoptagr to notify you when the item comes back in stock, goes low in stock or goes on sale. The later is what I have been using the app for most often as I can track when items I love are cheaper.

As there is both a website and an app you can choose to get email notifications, or push notifications on your phone. Whatever works easier for you. I have both on as it means I’ll get the notification where ever I am. I know for some items they may sell quick when the sales come on so I try to be quick if it’s something I definitely want.

How to use Shoptagr

When you find an item you want to save you can add it to your Shoptagr account. If you’re on a desktop you can either copy and paste the URL into the site, or use the browser plugin to save it. If you’re on your mobile you click share and choose Shoptagr and it will save it on the app.

You can choose to add the item into a specific board. For example I have different boards per room in my future home so kitchen, bathroom, bedroom etc. And if nothing else it keeps your wish lists compiled together and easy to see.

How I’ve used Shoptagr

A few months ago I was on the Oliver Bonas site and lusted over a few items, particularly a mirror, but at £70+ I couldn’t justify the price. I added it to my Shoptagr account and got a notification that it had gone down to about £55 in the sale. But I still didn’t think it was cheap enough so left it. And then just a few weeks ago when the brand did a final clearance I got a notification it was down to about £30. And this was my chance to grab the item at about 60% off. I’m so happy with my purchase, and don’t feel guilty that I spent loads on it.

Have you used Shoptagr before?

I’ve not heard of Shoptagr, but I like the sound of it. I’ve just downloaded the chrome extension to give it a go. There’s a camera I’ve been thinking about buying, but it’s a little out of my budget. Fingers crossed I can grab it if it goes on sale!

It’s so great to know about deals. The dining table we want has gone down by 50% so we’re going to have another look and then order it x

Oh man, this sounds so handy! I’ve always got about 20 tabs open on my laptop and phone so I can remember all the pretty things I’ve seen. This sounds so much better.

I have never heard of Shoptagr before but I will definitely be checking it out, what a fantastic idea! The amount of times I have found something I love only for it to be out of stock and then I totally forget about it! I love the idea of being able to add everything in one place!

I have so many different lists for different things, especially as we’re going to be moving next year so I have all the appliances we want in there x

I have never heard of this before but love the idea. I often find things online but think they are too pricey so say to myself I will see if they go on sale in the future, then I forget. This would be a great reminder.

Shoptagr sounds like a great app, I cant even count the amount of times I have missed out on sale items and which I had an alert or something.
