Three Ways To Make Yourself Healthier

This post has been written in collaboration with Health Labs but all thoughts on ways to make yourself healthier are my own

The current climate is tough and health is at the forefront of a lot of people’s minds. I say this while I am barely doing 2,000 steps a day and not going outside for my daily exercise. And eating my weight in comfort food *oops.* This must change! I’ve been really bad when it comes to motivational to do exercise. But in actual fact this is the best time to start as habits take a month to form. And it looks like I’m not going anywhere for a while.

Get into the habit of doing your exercise classes

So many fitness instructors/ gyms are doing online classes via YouTube or Instagram Live. You’ve probably all seen Joe Wickes and his P.E classes which look intense. But this is a great time to try out some classes and see what you like. As you don’t need to walk into a gym and have the worry that people will be looking at you. You can do these classes from the comfort of your own home. So it’s much easier to try out all the ones you’ve been thinking of. Make yourself healthier by getting into good habits.

I need to practice what I preach and my plan is to try two different classes next week. If I hate them both or find they’re just not for me I’ve lost nothing. But I’ll never know if I don’t try.

Make yourself healthier: Get tested before changing your diet

If you’re thinking about majorly changing your diet then it’s worth getting tested to ensure your body is getting the nutrients you need. Whether you’re looking to change to a plant-based diet to make yourself healthier or for other reasons you can be tested. Companies like Health Labs have been offering customers in the US affordable lab testing online since 2015. When you take the test you can make sure your body is getting all the vitamins and minerals that it needs.

You can get 15% off your test by using my code here. Take a step to make yourself healthier inside and out.

Drink more water

This is something I’m sure all of us can make a pledge to do more of. I’ve been in and out of habits when it comes to drinking water. Personally I find being at home harder as I’m surrounded by loads of other drinks. And if someone offered me water or a Pepsi max I know damn well which one I’ll take. But it’s important to make yourself healthier by drinking at least a few pints of water a day.

Our bodies are made of about 60% water. And the function of these bodily fluids are so important from digestion and circulation to transporting nutrients.

Have you formed any healthy habits during the pandemic?

These are great tips, I am finding I am drinking more water which is a good thing. I am up and down the stairs all day so get plenty of exercise doing that plus walking the dogs but do need to look at my diet

You see I’m the opposite at the moment, the temptation of all the fizzy drink in the house makes me drink them more, gotta get into your habits x

I could definitely do with drinking more water! I also need to get back into a fitness routine – it has totally fallen by the wayside thanks to lockdown.

I do drink quite a bit of water daily and avoid fizzy drnks as a rule unless it’s fizzy water. Since lockdown I’ve fallenout of the habit of daily exercise. It’s had to fit everything in.

Since I’ve been at lockdown I’ve been trying to drink more water you don’t realise how important it is and how quickly you can get dehydrated.

I think we all get a little lazy when it comes to exercise in the home . There are so many free apps and you tube channels offering classes that it is not hard to do some exercise . I think I need motivation .

My family and I have fairly recently become vegetarian and are now trying to progress onto a vegan diet. We have done it more for ethical reasons though rather than health reasons however I always make sure we are getting what we need from our diets.

  13. Rebecca Smith says:

I could definitely do with drinking more water, I am awful for making sure I drink enough! I definitely need to get back into exercise classes as well!

I’ve gone down the route of making water my drink of choice, I never drink fizzy drinks any more and I feel much better for it.
