*This is a collaborative post on ways to update your bathroom for less

How does your bathroom make you feel? If it is anything other than fresh and relaxed, then maybe you need to have a long think about what would turn your bathroom from awful to oasis?

We spend a lot of time in our bathrooms; a recent poll suggests that men spend on average 23 minutes per day in a bathroom while women spend around 29 minutes. So whether you are popping some candles on and soaking in the tub with a good book and a glass of vino, or it is a quick shower before running out the door to catch the train to work, you want to feel good in your bathroom, not grubby.

Let’s have a look at easy ways you can change the look and feel of your bathroom.

Update your bathroom with mirrors

Mirrors are magical items capable of transforming even the drabbest of rooms. While you are unlikely to get an answer by asking whose bathroom is the fairest of them all, you can really notice the difference by adding mirrors to reflect light and open up the space. These days, you can buy mirrors that don’t steam up when you bathe or shower too.

Accessories

Whether you like to mix and match or have everything coordinated, there is no denying that accessories can help you to create a feeling in your bathroom that changes the whole space.

Think non slip bathroom mats, toilet roll holders, units, wall decals, or pictures to brighten the space up and tie your theme together. All of these items can be sourced cheaply, both new and second hand to allow you to change your bathroom for less overtime if you cannot afford it all at once.

Update your bathroom with plants

Plants are good for us, and adding some green luxury can add depth and warmth to a room, not to mention heaps of personality. Plus, they are super healthy too. Whether you want to add real plants that can grow and change throughout the year or for a lower maintenance option of artificial plants, you should definitely introduce green to your bathroom this way!

Renew Grout

Grout and even grout pens can be picked up fairly inexpensively at many major retail chains across the country. This is an easy way to brighten up our bathroom and improve how it looks and feels. Tired and worn grout can look dirty and messy, and refreshing it can brighten up the tiles and help you to overhaul your bathroom.

Update your bathroom with Stick On Tiles

If you are sick of looking at the same tiles day in and day out, why not cover them up with waterproof adhesive tile transfers. This is a cost-effective way of updating your titles without having to replace them all.

There are many different styles and designs, but make sure they are waterproof to keep peeling off due to moisture.

New Flooring

If your bathroom is tiny, you can find flooring offcuts relatively cheaply to give your bathroom a quick update. Stick on floor tiles are great temporary options while arranging suitable flooring or even covering the damaged floor you currently have.
