A Week Off, Relaxation and Reading – March 2025 Overview

Here we are a quarter of the way through the year, which is mad. And less than 3 months until baby girl arrives which I can’t really compute. March 2025 was a pretty great month, I got to do plenty and catch up with people, but I feel like I had a good amount of ‘at home’ time too.

For me April is going to be the big month of preparation. We’re going to have all the stuff out of the nursery and into our log cabin ready to decorate at the end of the month which is exciting.

But let’s look back at the last month.

What I got up to in March 2025

I had a week off work during the month which was much needed, although it wasn’t super relaxing. We were going away for five days to celebrate my mum’s 60th which was absolutely lovely. We stayed at a beautiful property with a pool which was so lovely, and I got to do a little relaxing.

One of the days was Luke’s birthday so we headed into Birmingham and did some shopping and had some yummy food. Then on my mum’s birthday we did a pottery painting session which was fun, although I’m a little apprehensive about what mine with turn out like. And instead of going out we had a caterer come to our accommodation to cook (through the app Yhangry) and it was one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time.

One Saturday Luke and me had a little day out which started at the Lucy and Yak imperfects sale. I managed to pick up so many awesome goodies, most of which fit me now. But also a few pieces to keep for after baby has come. We then headed to Lakeside to have a little wonder and grab some lunch which was lovely.

I feel like March 2025 is the last month before the number of medical appointments really ramps up. I had one midwife appointment this month and my glucose test to see if I had gestational diabetes and thankfully I don’t yay!

The month ended with a lovely family day celebrating Mother’s Day. It’s very strange to think that this is my last mother’s day before baby arrives.

Things I watched and read

I managed to get to the cinema twice during the month. Mid- March me and Luke headed to see Mickey 17 which I really enjoyed. It had serious undertones but was ultimately very funny. Later in the month I went on a solo trip to see the live-action remake of Snow White. I’m happy I saw it but it wasn’t anywhere near the best live-action remake I’ve seen.

On 1st March 2025 I had my penultimate pre-baby live show heading to see Set It Off. Thankfully we managed to get a spot upstairs where I could lean as there were four bands to watch, but it was such a fun show. And it was a great evening spent with one of my best friends. Before we show we headed to a lasagne restaurant in London and my god the food was incredible!

TV wise me and Luke binge watched the latest series of Drive to Survive, and then the 2025 F1 season kicked off. Despite only two races so far I’m calling it that this is going to be the best season of racing in a long time.

My favourite books of March 2025

Again another pretty great reading month, although nothing that tipped the 5 stars for me. But still plenty of great books. My top three were:

Drive to Survive sounds like an exciting show. I love Formula One. It’s super intense!

It really is, and while the show is obviously edited and dramatised it really shows off the intensity x

Sounds like you had a relaxing time, but one filled with birthdays and fun! Hopefully next month isn’t too much with all the appointments and such, but fingers crossed.
