A-Z of Me

A-Z of Me

Looking back on my posts from last year I realized how closed off I had been from my blog, how little people know about me, and how little I shared other than my opinions on eyeliners and my desire to go to Disney world. Since starting my five things posts in January I have become more open and happier to share parts of my life with my readers so here is a A-Z post all about the person behind these words (FYI some of these letters were far harder to write about than I thought!)

A is for Apples, the only fruit I actually like and eat. I am trying to push myself to eat more variety but the fact is I don’t like anything else.

B is for Bring Me The Horizon who are my favourite band. You’ve probably read loads of blogs where I ramble on about my love for them so it’s not really new information but oh well.

C is for Copenhagen which after my visit at the end of last year has found it’s way to be my favourite European city of the lot. There are a lot of close seconds but I fell in love as soon I spent time wondering around the streets. I’m actually heading back to the city in a matter of days!

D is for Daniel who is my brother. He’s just sixteen months younger than me and when we were younger we were really good friends, We went through a period of about three years when we didn’t speak but now we’re close again.

E is for Epilepsy. When I was a kid I was told that I had a tendency towards epilepsy after multiple fits throughout my teenage years. I was incredibly lucky to only have it very mildly and was never put on medication, and through time I have grown out of it *touch wood*. I’ve been on three-year driving licenses ever since I passed until I have been fit free for ten years and next years’ one will be my first full license *yay*

F is for Family. My family are incredibly important in my life and despite being your typical stroppy hormonal teenager I have a great relationship with my parents, my nan (mum’s mum) and my auntie who all live within a ten-minute drive from my flat. I don’t think I could ever move too far away as I would struggle to be apart from them.

G is for Glastonbury which is the best festival that I have ever been to. After eight years of festivals spanning multiple various fields Glastonbury is still the best I’ve been to and I am so excited to head back again this year.

H is for Hearsay who were the very first ‘band’ – I use that word lightly – that I ever saw. This would have been in around 2000/01 when I was 10/11 years old so I will not be help responsible.

I is for ice hotel which is something I’ve been longing to do in ages. My original plans for this Easter were to head to Romania and during our trip we would be staying at an ice hotel. Sadly this didn’t happen and it’s still a bucket list thing to do.

J is for Jacqueline Wilson who was my favourite author growing up. I read everything from Girls in Tears to Tracey Baker and she even did a book signing in Watford when I was younger and I went along just to meet her.

K is for Kalos which is the car I have, or rather a Chevrolet Kalos. I’ve had my current car for almost four years and I am desperately looking to get a new one but I don’t think finances will allow me to.

lack of self confidence

L is for Lack of Confidence which is something I have always suffered with. When someone initiates a conversation with me I am generally okay, but I simply can not push myself into a conversation or go up to someone and begin chatting. This might be why I have been single for so long because I don’t have the confidence to approach the opposite sex.

M is for Mosh which is the name of the music website that I run and edit. The website is a sub-brand of Hit The Floor who I have worked with for about four years now and I have been lucky enough to attend some amazing festivals and gigs thanks to the site.

N is for Nandos which is my favourite restaurant and somewhere I am utterly obsessed by. Anyone that knows me can testify for my addiction and has probably been dragged there by me at least once. My standard order is medium thighs with rice and mash and of course a side of halloumi.

O is for Obstacle Course Runs. Ever since doing my first one last year I have been a little hooked and love having one planned every few months. They give me something to work towards and push me to get as fit as I can. Although I do sometimes struggle during the c0urses it’s always such a great feeling of achievement to finish them.

P is for Peanut Butter which I am pretty obsessed with. If anything is peanut butter flavoured then chances are I am going to love it, and I could pretty much just spoon peanut butter itself from the jar.

school of rock

Q is for Queens’ which is the same of the secondary school I went to in Bushey. I had such a great time at school making some amazing friends who I still see now and trying not to mess up my education.

R is for Rainbow House which is the name of my block of flats and it’s such a cute name. I bloody love my flat and it was well worth taking the leap into property ownership a few years ago when I realised how much I hated renting.

S is for Samantha which is my middle name. I’m not really sure how I feel about my middle name, it certainly doesn’t suit me but it’s something I’m stuck with.

T is for Tim Burton who is my favourite director. The Nightmare before Christmas is my all-time favourite movie (I can even quote/ sing along with it!) and almost everything he creates is just fantastic (Sorry Dark Shadows.)

U is for United States of America. I have been lucky enough to head to the states about four or five times now to explore loads of States but it is a country with so much going on I’d love to keep going back.

johnny depp

V is for Vegan eating. I went vegan for a month at the end of last year and I found it helped with my weight loss and I did feel a lot better from it. Since then I can’t say I am 100% vegan but pretty much everything I eat at home is and I am conscious when I go out to make the right decisions.

W is for Watford which is my hometown. I have lived in Watford for my whole life and in all honesty I can’t see that ever changing. I love how close to London I am without actually being in London and all of my close family live here, plus most of my friends are still close by.

X is for X-Ray which is something I’ve only ever had once when I broke my arm when I was about six. It was so sad because I broke it just before I had a large birthday party so my parents had to help me open my presents as I was taking too long one handed!

Y is for yellow which was the colour of my bedroom walls when I was a child/ teenager. We moved into a new family home when I was 9 and I was adamant that I wanted custard yellow walls and they were horrific. I lived with that for about five years before I convinced my parents to let me repaint.

Z is for Zante which was the location of my first holiday away from my parents (excluding school trips!) Me and a friend went just after finishing our A Levels and had a pretty messy week, those memories will stay with me for a long time.

Who fancies taking on the A-Z challenge?

What a good post. It makes me wonder if I share enough about me on my blog. I think I probably babble on about my daughter more than anything though.

It’s funny that hearsay was the first group you ever saw!

  21. May 17, 2016 / 5:30 pm

I always love reading posts like this as I tend to enjoy a persons blog more if I can relate to them. I fully appreciate some letters can be quite difficult!

What a lovely idea! I think those ice hotels are amazing too. Also had an x ray for breaking my arm as a kid – when I was 8. I broke it first day of the summer holidays. 6 week cast came off end of the summer holidays! Didn’t get out of any school work but missed all swim parties, etc all holiday!

I absolutely love Tim Burton! He was in Blackpool recently shooting a film and was gutted I couldn’t get down to see what was going on. Stupid work! I love this kind of post, great way of getting to know more about a person, bit different to the usual 25 questions about me that basically tell you what you can find out in the about me pages of most blogs!
