I don’t really do a lot of fashion posts because although I love buying clothes (who doesn’t) I don’t see myself as very fashionable but I did my first one last month and I enjoyed it so here it another wishlist style post.
December was pretty mild compared to previous years so I knew that the start of this year was going to be pretty cold which is why I thought I’d focus on layering. For anyone who knows me IRL you’ll know that my style doesn’t vary much between summer and winter other than swapping tights for leggings and maybe adding an extra cardigan so layers are the perfect thing for me in the Winter.A lot of wintery items seem to be on the sale at the moment which is absolutely amazing, hopefully, these things will all still be in stock if you want to have a look at them.
I have so many black items of clothing that I really want a coat which is a little less monochrome. Rust browns and burgundies are perfect wintery colours and I found this beautiful coat from River Island. Today I just discovered that there is genuinely an item called a coatigan, how amazing is that word?! A combo cardigan and coat which makes me super excited, and even better this beautiful grey and black one is only £28 from Next.
Being a slightly larger girl means that Waterfall jackets/ cardigans are quite a flattering fit as I can pull them around me and this longer-length light jacket from Boohoo is perfect to layer over a cardigan or jacket. The royal blue colour also breaks up from monochrome outfits which I am super at always wearing! Fine knit chiffon tops are something I love to wear as they’re really comfy and this Navy fine knit top from New Look would look wonderful underneath a thick cardigan and funky jacket.
With all those layers you obviously need a lovely pair of boots. These black ankle boots from Brantano are perfect. They have a lovely woven pattern on the side and will match in with any outfit. Even better the boots are only £29 in the sale, so a complete bargain.
Personally I'm a massive fan of a chunky knit sweater. Love this post – makes me feel so cosy 🙂
Chunky knit sweaters are the best! 🙂
I love the look of the rust brown coat from River Island! And you're right – there are so many great coats on sale at the moment 🙂

It's awesome because it's going to be cold for a good few more months so you can still get a lot of wear out of them! x
I love the one from next that you picked! And such a good price too 🙂
My current favourite layers are an oversized light sweater that I can wear underneath a big cardi and a cosy scarf!
Creepers & Cupcakes
I think it was the name coatigan which drew me in! So warm but not too bulky x
Some great choices here! I love jumpers and cardigans in winter 🙂
Same here they're so toasty x
Coatigan? Now that's new on me, I am not that fashionable either and like my summer/winter outfits do not differ either except for the coats/jackets. Great picks you have here
I'm totally the same, whack on some thicker tights and a larger cardigan and I'm done x
Great post! I always tend to go for black and dark colours too. I love a good chunky knit! x
I'm so bad with wearing too much black! x
I love layers especially as my office is like a sauna but it's so cold outside. T-shirt with jumper and cardigan to get to work and then can adjust layers to temperature. I love the grey gradient cardigan!
Totally agree, some days my office is like a sauna and other days it's freezing so layers are a must! x
I love the look of that rust coat, the fur collar is gorgeous and looks so so cosy! I really need to pick up a massive winter cosy coat because all mine are way too thin for this weather x

Same, I don't tend to go for massive coats but I have a feeling in the next month or two i'll need one x
It's so nice being all cosy and toasty x
think layering is so important especially in this indecisive weather! So I like to layer thinner tops with a heavy jacket 🙂
I know one minute it's really cold and you put on a thick coat then it's too warm! x
I love big chunky cardigans and blanket scarves in the winter.
Blanket scarves are amazing! So cosy x
You can't beat cardigans/ jumpers/ coats etc x
Winter fashion is one of my favourites, except when it's too cold! x
I love that blue coat, a great shade and lovely shape too.
It is a beautiful colour x
I still don't own a snood, might have to get one if this cold weather continues x
