It’s Almost The Weekend, So Celebrate With Gin
With the sun intermittently deciding to come out it’s hard to know whether ‘summer’ is really here. Regardless of that the weekend is almost here, Thursday is the new Friday after all, and there’s no better way to celebrate than with an alcoholic drink. I don’t drink that often, I’m not the kind of person who has a glass of wine (or two) with dinner but I am a spirit person. When I was younger I was always a vodka drinker as that was the standard going out drink but in the last few years, I’ve developed more of an attraction to other spirits, specifically gin.
For me gin is far more a summer drink as it’s soft and refreshing so when the team at ILoveGin asked if I wanted to try out one of their Gin and Tonic boxes* I wasn’t going to say no. Much like a beauty subscription box each month you receive a box with some new gin’s to try and the accompanying tonic’s to enjoy with them. I know I am very much a creature of a habit so a box like this is perfect for me as I can try gins’ I’ve never tried before without the worry of standing in the spirit isle of Tesco staring at bottles’ and finally settling on one because it’s on offer (We’ve all done it!)
The best thing is the boxes are only £14 which is a complete bargain as there’s enough for four G&T’s inside. I spend pretty much this amount on my Birchbox every month and sometimes end up a bit disappointed, but I know Gin would never do that to me! The box I received had two bottles of premium tonic alongside two small bottles of gin (one being sloe gin which I had never tried). I loved the in-box leaflet which gave information and guidance about the contents. The sun might not have been shining this week but gin has regained my faith in the summer.

I’m going to out my hands up here and admit that I have never tried gin! I’m getting the hints that its become quite popular now so maybe I’m missing out?
My mummy is yet to find a gin she likes…. Tanqueray is kinda nice especially if mixed with Elderflower! Yummy!
Ive never tried Gin but now that i dont drink for medical reasons my fave drink when out has to be a fresh orange and lemonade!

Is it bad that I only want to drink it because the bottle is blue?! Haha. I’m not a gin fan tbh but my favourite summer time drink has to be vodka, orange & grenadine!

I love gin, it’s so much more refreshing than other drinks & no where near as sugar laden as cocktails

These sound great I think the subscription box for gin is a great idea as you get to sample them and get large one if you like them 😉
A subscription for drinks – amazing!! I love a Gin Bramble in the summer, so tasty and refreshing!

Here is a typically British drink that I’m not used to ordering when I go out. In France we call it Gin Tonic, and my Friend who lived in London for years asked for a Gin AND Tonic in a bar here, and the waiter actually asked her “why do you say “AND” tonic?” ahah!
