Over the Halloween weekend, me and a friend had booked a very quick trip to Paris in order to spend a day in Disneyland. The Nightmare Before Christmas is both of our favourite movies and so our main mission was to seek out Jack and get a photo, explore the haunted mansion and Halloween element of the park and just enjoy the day.
The weekend started off very early as we had the first Eurostar from Kings Cross at 6am so we got a train at 3.45am from St Albans. After a very quick train journey which we pretty much slept through we arrived at Gare Du Nord. I planned the trip so that our hotel was just outside the train station, and even at 945am our room was ready for us to get into (Thanks, Mercure!) After dumping our bags and grabbing what we needed we got the train and ended up in Disney around 11am.
We were lucky to see the Autumnal parade just as we came in full of reds, oranges and yellows and plenty of pumpkins. Next stop was the Haunted Mansion which is where Jack is meant to be situated and after about 20 mins of running into shops and taking photos by the pumpkins, we found him. Considering that it’s just a guy in a costume I completely felt like a fan girl, like how a young girl might react when she meets Justin Bieber (minus the tears). We queued for about half an hour which was well worth it and I got my signature, had a little chat with Jack and of course got some photos. They were great and after me and my friend had individual photos we were able to get a photo with us both in so thanks Disney staff.
The rest of the day we were just happy we had completed our mission and went on a few rides including the Haunted Mansion cause it was Halloween, Space Mountain which was awesome, The Teacups because they’re Alice in Wonderland themed and the Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast which I won by a complete landslide. We caught the Disney Villains show which was so good as the villains are my favorite, it included Jafar, Maleficent, Cruella Da Vil, The Evil Step Sisters, Captain Hook, Claude Frollo, Guston, Lady Tremaine, Ursula, The Red Queen and more. The show itself was really fun and the characters then came out so you could queue to meet them. I’d have loved photos with Jafar and Maleficent but there were so many people around it didn’t seem worth it.
The whole park looks completely magical in Autumn and they have thought of every little detail. It’s been a long time since I’ve been and I really got to appreciate it this time, alongside spending a lot of money on treats and presents *oops*. We stopped for a buffet dinner at the Central Plaza Restaurant which was great and very filling before we had a quick go on the carousel before our trip back to the hotel. We might have been super tired and poor but my day in Halloween was amazing. I definitely want to go back at Christmas time one year and see how much effort they put into the decorations.
Looks like such a fun trip! We were lucky enough to be in Disney World Florida for Halloween a couple of years ago, and ever since then a home grown Halloween just hasn’t been the same. So my evening was just spent dishing out sweets to little kids, which is fun in a different way.
My neighbours go yearly because they love celebrating Halloween in DLP. Now I see exactly why xo
I have always loved the Night Before Christmas Film ever since I was little, I am a huge Disney fan too!
I love The Nightmare Before Christmas – so cool that you got a photo with Jack. I have never really considered what DIsney would be like at Hallowe’en and it looks amazing! Those pumpkins are brilliant. I’m impressed that you had the energy to do so much after your really early start and good planning on the hotel being o close to Gare du Nord.
We didn’t really do much for Hallowe’en, I carved a teeny weeny pumpkin and we entertained the local neighbouring kids with sweets and scared sounds, but that was it š x
Oh my goodness I bet you had the most amazing time, I really want to visit Disney Land at some point – I didn’t do anything for Halloween myself I have to admit. x

I didn’t even think of the Paris version for HAlloween – I’m sitting here thinking about going to Florida again for it and completely forgot there was somewhere much closer to home, haha!
