Bathing The Alternative Way With Hex Bombs

Hex Bomb Black Bath Bomb

I know I’ve rambled on enough times about my love for relaxing baths’ and all things Lush, but they aren’t the only brand on the scene. There are so many brands making bath bombs’ it’s hard to know where to look but few have caught my eye more than Hex Bath Bombs.

I first discovered Hex when Instagram and my online feeds’ were filled with people bathing in black bath water, yes that’s right black. Goth or not that’s pretty cool and definitely unusual. Every time I went to order online they’d be out of stock or you’d need to place a large order to get them. But it wasn’t just the black bath bombs which caught my eye there were red ones which looked a bit like blood and some more unusual colours like dark purples and greens’. No candy floss colours and sugar smelling treats here.

In all honesty, I kind of forgot about the brand until I was the London Edge alternative clothing and lifestyle event last month where the brand were showcasing. The ladies on the stall were so friendly and they had the entire collection of bath bombs’ available at the event to look at, smell and of course purchase. I tried not to go too overboard because I always have way more bath products that I can ever use so I just picked up three to try out the brand.

Of course, I got the Black As Your Soul bath bomb which started off the craze, alongside this I got the Blood Red Bathory and a dark purple glittery bomb called Macabre. The colour pigmentation is incredibly strong and they start to fizz the second they hit the water.

The first bath bomb I tried was Bathory and as you can see in the photo above it’s a perfect blood red colour. I worried a little about the colour staining my bath as it splattered up the sides but it wiped off so easily so no worry about stains. The main thing I noticed was how amazing the scent was, it was so fruity and not at all chemicaly like I thought it might have been. I still have the other two to try out but if they’re half as good as the red I know I’m in for a treat.

Can you believe I have never had a bath bomb?! I’ve bought them for my mum and others but never used one myself due to sensitive skin. The colour of Bathory is amazing! (glad it didn’t stain!)

This post has made me realise how much I miss having a bathtub. We only have this huge shower in our house, but we’re planning to refit the bathroom so I can get myself a bathtub in there, I’m definitely going to treat myself to the Macabre bathbomb when we finally have a bath!

Wow, that colour is amazing. You can see it plume out in the water. I know three girls who would love this and as a mum I’m always happier if it’s ‘no stain’

Not heard of these ones. Glad they don’t stain the bath and it’s easy to wash off if it goes everywhere x

  26. Louise Smith says:

Oh wow, these look fantastic! I stopped using regular bath bombs due to having to scrub the bath to within an inch of its life afterwards to get the stains off, so these sound like they might be a fab alternative to try 🙂

These look amazing! i love trying out new bath products.

  28. Ana De Jesus says:

They look epic and I like that they are different to your traditional cutesy bath bombs as well! Gorge x
