AD- I was provided with accommodation at the Garden & Villas Resort but I didn’t have to write a post about it but I wanted to as my stay was so amazing all thoughts and opinions are my own.
For me, the moment I set foot into a complex/ hotel I instantly make judgments about the kind of place it is. Just an off-centre item or a member of staff leaving me waiting can leave me with a sour taste. When I landed in Ischia I had no idea what to expect as the resort had been chosen for us. So I hadn’t spent hours trawling Booking.com and other online portals to decide where to rest my head.
It was pretty dark when we arrived at the Garden and Villas Resort but location wise it couldn’t have been better. Our journey from the island port was just 15 minutes by car. The journey to our daily activities and evening meals were never long either. But to be honest, on a relatively small island I wouldn’t have expected them to be.
From the second we drove into the grounds the ‘Garden’ element of the resort name became apparent. The villas and buildings are surrounded by so much greenery. 3 hectares to be precise which gives each villa a more private feeling. Once we had our room keys we were taken on a small buggy to our villas for the next few nights. A thankful addition as wheeling a suitcase up the rolling hills wouldn’t have been fun.
Dodging between fragrant plants and winding paths we arrived at our villa ready to make ourselves at home. It really did feel like home. I believe I stayed in a Junior Suite which was absolutely stunning and huge! Walking in I didn’t expect to be greeted by my own sitting room complete with a comfortable sofa and plenty of space. Off to one side was a complete dressing room full of more wardrobe and storage space than I have in my own flat at home. On one side of the dressing room was the bedroom complete with king-size bed, soft cosy ivory bedding and a nautical feel to it.
I saved the best for last when walking around and that was the bathroom. With traditional tiling across the room I was so happy to have a room with enough space around the sink around for all my products, loads of towels and the best shower I have ever seen in a hotel. Not just content with being a double shower with a separate shower head on each end there was enough space to have a small party in there.
All rooms come with satellite TV, individually controlled air-conditioning, Wi-Fi (although don’t be too dependant on it) and a Minibar stocked with water and lemonade included within your room rate. Something like this is a nice touch as too many times I’ve been so thirsty in a hotel room. But begrudged paying the over the top minibar prices.
The 4-star resort has a spa with an indoor pool, a gym, a reading room to relax in, a bar and restaurant, an outdoor heated pool and even a resident cat. On our first night despite arriving pretty late the wonderful chef still prepared us a meal. It was three courses of seafood delights ranging from fresh octopus to a platter of assorted fish. One of the best things though was breakfast; I have never seen one quite like it. The photos included in this post just show two tables worth of choices. One including croissants, pastries and cakes and one with a selection of bruschettas, olives, tomatoes and even pizza.
What this doesn’t show is also the huge array of cereals, fruits, fresh bread baked on site, juices, boiled eggs and other yummy treats. I could have happily hung around at breakfast for hours and sampled everything but each morning our day’s activities beckoned us.
So the facilities were great, the room was great and the food was great but what about the make or break service? Well in one word, excellent. No matter whether it was the person bringing you tea at breakfast. The person handing you your key at the start of your trip. O the person you’ve spotted on your walk around the resort, everyone was so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help you. Something which is key in a stay and from the look of the guestbook is what keeps people coming back again and again.

Having a family with tots and teens I always look for activities that would suit both – and a pool as they all love to swim
Sounds like u had such a lovely time there! My perfect resort would have a spa but also child friendly with plenty of things to do.
Wow! This looks like paradise indeed! Such a cute, cozy and relaxing resort… I really wish I could just teleport there!

I always think good service really makes a stay. If things are clean and tidy its great. if the staff and service you recieve is excellent then it is a fantastic trip all around!
I’m so glad you guys had a lovely time at The Garden and Villas Resort! When my husband and I travel I look for a place that will be clean, quiet, and have high-speed internet. Also, I’d like it to be close to local restaurants, and some of the places we’d like to see. x
The room sounds amazing! And it sounds huge too.. i’ll have to see if it works with he kids in tow because that would make a great little break!
That truly sounds like such a lovely resort! Glad you had a lovely time!
Everything looks beautiful! Great review. We stayed at an all inclusive resorts on our honeymoon and I have been longing to go back to one ever since. Only place I have stayed that looked like the pictures and had most excellent service.
Oh wow , it sounds so relaxing! I love that all the greenery gives each resort a real “private” feeling. That sounds incredible.
Everything looks perfect. I’ve stayed in my fair share of abysmal places and it really can ruin a trip so it’s great to see the Garden & Villa Resort was up to standards. The breakfast looks so good. I don’t know how you managed to leave for your daily activities, I would’ve refused to move until they cleared the food away!
I think service is a deal-breaker for me at a hotel or resort, this place looks incredible 🙂
I think this is one of those perfect homey vacation. Lovely pool and enjoying the sun, plus awesome breakfast!

Oh it looks a gorgeous place to stay. The food all looks delicious too. I tend to be a budget traveller so I look for a good price, clean rooms and a great location for exploring whichever country we are in. I would love to stay somewhere more luxurious like this one day though.
This place looks amazing! I love the small touches like free lemonade in the room, I often get thirsty especially in the middle of the night so it’s great that you can avoid paying for that x
It sounds wonderful. For me the food and staff are so important to having a good stay.
From your photos it looks awesome, I love that they’ve added lots of greenery as thats such a big thing for me. The food looks blooming amazing too!!

Ooh looks like you had an amazing stay! I love it when breakfast is amazing! I love hanging out near the breakfast area till its actually finishing up time! haha!
Looks like such a nice place to stay! I also tend to be quite quick to judge based on first impressions. I think in this case making snap judgements is the way to go.
The Gardens & Villa Resort looks and sounds like absolute heaven! Where is Ischia?
Ischia is a small island just of Naples in Italy x
This is such a cool sounding hotel and I think I might be seeing Ischia when I go to Italy next year. On all my travels I’ve never done a separate post on my accommodation so this may be something I have a go at next time I’m on holiday.

The place looks so amazing, perfect vacation for next holidays! I would love to visit it, seems like the right place for relaxing and blogging.
This looks like the perfect place for a romantic getaway. One of the biggest things I look for in a resort is peace and quiet and this place definitely looks to have that.
