Why The Cosmopolitan Party Starter Edit Is The Best Value Beauty Box

Cosmpolitian Party Starter Box

I have been a long time lover of beauty boxes but one of the issues I always find is the duplicate of products coming through month after month, or the lack of imagination when it came to pairing together items for the boxes. For these reasons I stopped all the beauty boxes I got over a year ago and nothing has tempted me back into monthly boxes.

One of the things I do love are the one-off branded boxes, and Latest in Beauty do those amazingly. With a number of branded boxes such as an upcoming one to coincide with the Great Showman movie, they are also home to the Cosmopolitan curated boxes. Now I love the magazine and with the demise of Glamour it’s now my only magazine subscription and having got two of their beauty boxes before I always know how great for both value and product selection they are.

Cosmpolitian Party Box Skincare

When the Cosmopolitan Party Starter Edit* landed on my doorstep I was so excited to open it up and see the sixteen products crammed into the box especially when some of the brands boosted were Glamglow, Sleek, and IT Cosmetics. The box itself retails at just £25 but contains products worth £121 so that alone makes it worthwhile, but one of the things I love about these boxes is how well created they are. This is a box designed for a big night out and it ticks pretty much every box. All the items within the box have been hand-picked by Cosmo’s beauty director and unlike a lot of other boxes it doesn’t just feel like a bunch of items have been thrown in.

But what’s inside the box?! To start with are some items you’d use to prep yourself for a night out. I was so excited to see a mini GlamGlow GravityMud Firming Mask Treatment as this is one of my favourite masks so it’s nice to have a travel version. Just leave this on for 20 minutes and your skin will feel lifted and super healthy, plus it turns a cool metallic silver colour! Then there’s a Gillette Venus Snap Razor which is pocket sized and so practical to take away with you. There’s a Soaper Duper Vanilla Shea Body Wash which smells lovely and suds up really nicely, and once your skin is nice and prepped there’s some St. Tropez Instant Tan Finishing Gloss which is golden and easy to apply but it doesn’t rub off on your clothes *hooray*

To finish prepping you is a tube of Beverly Hills Formula Perfect White Toothpaste which has this year’s must have ingredient; activated charcoal. It will whiten your teeth without damaging the enamel.

Then there are eight makeup or makeup related itens including two from Sleek Makeup. The I-Divine Eyeshadow palette in shades All Night Long might be small but the colours are shimmery, pigmented and because they’re more natural tones will suit anyone. The other Sleek product was the Matte Me Lip Cream in the bright Rioja Red shade which I didn’t think would be for me but it’s a very flattering colour which won’t budge. To finish off your eye look are a pair of Eylure Volume No,100 Lashes and an IT Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Pencil, the former are the brand’s best-selling lashes and the later I’ve been keen to try out for months.

The makeup item which intrigued me the most was the Erborian Pink Perfect Créme as it’s a primer which has a glow to it to illuminate your skin alongside being a great base for foundation and the ability to blur your pores. Next up is the prettiest nail varnish shade I’ve seen from Nails Inc. Mayfair Market is a rose gold shade and it’s beautiful and shimmery without being too over the top, then there are three glitter pots from Glitterlution but unlike a lot of glitter brands which use plastic, these are 100% eco-friendly and just as sparkly. The final item is a Look Good Feel Better Sculpting Sponge because you can never have enough Makeup Sponges, especially when the one’s I have should probably have been thrown away month’s ago.

Cosmo Items

The final two items in the box is a can of Tigi Bed Head Mini Hard Head Hard Hold Hairspray which will keep your styled hair in place all night and a pack of Yes To Facial Wipes. Wipes aren’t always the best thing to use but after a night out when you’re tired and alcohol is keeping you off your best it’s better than going to bed in your makeup and these are really gentle and recyclable.

There’s also a 24-hour pass for Beauty Pie which means you can superior makeup and skincare at cost price, but make sure you activate it when you have some money!

As you can see the latest Cosmopolitan box is well and truly worth the price, and even if there are just a few products you want to try out the box is worth a purchase.

This looks like everything you need for a night out. I must admit, I often use wipes to take my makeup off, as it’s better than leaving it on all night and I’m lazy.

I can’t say I’ve ever been appealed to a beauty box but this one sounds very practical from the Razor to the facial wipes and Brow pencil. It certainly has everything

Looks like a great box packed with all sorts of goodies! Do you not find your storage gets cluttered up with all sorts of tiny samples though, or do you get through them all before the next lot arrives?

I haven’t tried any beauty boxes yet, but I’m always interested in reading reviews about them. I like to lessen the number of chemicals I absorb. Do you pineapple naturally brightens teeth?
