We’re now in the final month of the year and we’re pretty much in winter now. Autumn didn’t seem to last long and then it started getting crazy cold and I’m having to pull out my coat and scarves. I’ve been spending most of my evenings snuggled underneath my knitted blanket with gingerbread candles burning and the thought of hot chocolate never far away. Here are some of my favourite things from November.
Kiehls Glow Formula Skin Hydrator
My first impressions on skincare post might have only just gone live but I’ve been using the Kiehls Glow Formula Skin Hydrator for a few months now and I have to say I am in love with it. I put on moisturiser when I’m out of the shower so my makeup doesn’t go on for a minimum of 30 minutes so that’s always fully sunk in, then I apply this before I apply primer or anything else onto my face and it instantly makes my skin look so much better. The glow is subtle but is enough that I’ve been confident enough to go out without foundation on recently which is something I rarely ever do. I use this pretty much every single day and my skin is loving the extra hydration and the fewer layers of makeup when I chose to go makeup free.
Kat Von D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter
I am someone who wears highlighter every single day, even when I go to work because why not?! It makes me happy and makes me feel good so why shouldn’t I?! My only issue with this is when I then want to go out and amp up my makeup I don’t have much to play with, but the Kat Von D Metal Crush Extreme Highlighter is a great way to add some extra sparkle to my look for a special occasion. I have the shade Gammaray which is a peachy rose colour but you can go bright with pinks, blues and golds. When I say it’s sparkly I mean it, the glitter is really pigmented and it does stay on really well, so much so that when I went to swatch them all my hand was glittery for what felt like days. The highlighter is quite buttery so it doesn’t feel cakey or too powdery when I put it on.
Tangle Teezer: Ultimate Hairbrush
I am a huge fan of tangle teezers and they’re about the only brush I use first thing in the morning when I wake up or come out from my hair wash but the thing I wasn’t too keen on was the way you hold it, but that’s all changed with the Tangle Teezer: Ultimate Hairbrush which has a handle. Not trying to sound over-dramatic but I don’t know how I coped without this as it makes brushing my hair so much easier and it makes the whole process nicer on my hair as I feel less like I am tugging on my hair.
Black Suede and Gold Occassion shoes
Last month it was mine and Luke’s anniversary and we went out for a nice meal to celebrate and I wanted to make a bit of an effort with my outfit. I was lucky enough to be gifted these black suede and gold shoes* from Lace & Favour who do a whole range of Occasion Shoes and wedding shoes which are absolutely beautiful.
I’m going to say straight off I am awful at heels and generally don’t like wearing them but they really do finish an outfit off and add something special. As I knew we were going to be sat at the meal and there wouldn’t be too much walking these worked really well for me and while the heel is quite high for me they were comfortable to walk in. The T-bar style with the delicate around ankle strap meant I wasn’t wobbling around and potentially causing damage to myself. They’re a really special pair of shoes which although I won’t be wearing on a weekly basis I have had two chances to wear them in November and I’ve loved having them on my feet.
