How To Get Hold Of Free Beauty Items

Cheap Beauty items- Perfume samples

If I can get something for cheap or even better nothing then I am all over it. I have previously spent way too much money on beauty and skincare items. And it’s something I’m really trying to curb as I just have too much to use up. If you’re trying to save money, budget better but still want the odd new item here are some ways to get free beauty and skincare products.

Free beauty products through Glamour Beauty Club

The Glamour Beauty Club was created by Glamour Magazine and has been around for a little while now. All you need to do is sign up for free and answers some questions about your skin type, routine etc and then every so often they’ll email and offer to send out products for free. When you get that e-mail you don’t have to say yes to the product which is great if it’s a brand you don’t like etc. But once you do they send you the product which is usually trail/ mini-sized but I have had some full-size products like hair masks before.

All they ask in return is you fill in a quick survey at a later date about how you liked the product, whether you’d heard of it before etc. I love giving my opinion so this is absolutely fine with me. Some of the best things I’ve had are Elizabeth Arden capsules which are blooming expensive and some new shampoo when I’d almost run out.

Review products for free through First Beauty

I have recently signed up to First Beauty and got my first item to review within a few days. First Beauty is a site dedicated to getting reviews and feedback from people on products. When you first sign up you answer questions about you around hair, skin, what products you use etc. This is so that they can match you to review products that will be relevant to you.

I’ve not submitted a review yet but you get a few weeks after receiving the item to submit and then you get points. These points can be used to give you money off full-sized products which is a great idea. So not only do you get free items to review, you can get free/ cheaper items further down the line.

Cheap beauty items - Lush recycling

A free Lush facemask for recycling

I’m sure most people know about this little Lush hack, but if you take back five clean, Lush black pots to shops you can get a free, fresh face mask. There’s loads of information about recycling the Lush black pots on their site but basically, anything they get is sent back to the warehouse to be reused which is great. Not only are you getting a free face mask, but you’re also helping the environment.

I have collected four pots so far over the past year and have a few on the go so I’m going to be collecting a mask before the summer is out. I really enjoy the Lush face masks so it’s a nice treat.

Free lipstick with Mac recycling

It isn’t just Lush who incentivise you to bring back your used products, Mac does the same. By returning 6 packaging containers from their products you can exchange it for a free lipstick of your choice. By packaging containers, it’s the black plastic packaging around things like their eyeshadows, lipsticks or bottles like foundation or concealer.

Again another great incentive to ensure things are recycled properly, and who doesn’t love a free lipstick?

Grab free samples at beauty counters

Most beauty counters will offer you samples to try out before you commit to buying products. Especially when it comes to things like foundations and concealers which are reliant on the right shade. I will never buy a new foundation without asking for a sample to try out myself at home. It’s all well and good them colour matching you in the branch but sometimes when you go outside the shade can look different. Or the foundation might oxidise, so you need to try it.

There’s no harm in asking if they provide samples when you go as you’ll usually get enough for a few applications. This saves you spending out on money until you’re 100% sure.

These are some great ideas – I have loads of Lush pots I need to take in as we don’t have one very near so normally stock up when we visit the OHs parents and I forget to take my returns everytime!

Everyone likes a good freebie, so great tips. I have signed up for the Glamour Beauty samples, but have only had about 2 really. I hadn’t heard of First Beauty, so will have to give them a look.

I love the Glamour Beauty club, I’ve been sent a few things since I joined last year. I knew about the MAC scheme but I didn’t know Lush did a similar one, I’ll have to remember that when I finish mine off, I am pretty sure I have 4 or 5 almost empty ones!
