Five Of The Best Loyalty Reward Cards Out There

Boots advantage card

I am a big fan of a good loyalty/ reward card as you can earn points or get money off of things you’d be buying anyway. And who doesn’t want to save money or grab some freebies? I know I do. I’m the kind of person who has a card wallet because of all the reward cards that I wrack up. Although I do need to see which ones I can transfer over to the Stocard app. This app allows you to enter loyalty card details and store them in one place. So it’s a single app which saves phone memory and also space in your purse. Double win.

Over the years I’ve used a lot of reward cards and below are some of my favourites with some great deals/ points systems. I haven’t included any of the supermarket ones like the Tesco Clubcard or Nectar Card. With these ones, the best one is just where you decide to shop as a lot of supermarkets offer some rewards

Boots Advantage Card

This is probably the loyalty card I’ve had for the longest and it’s been majorly used over the years. This is a classic one where you get four points for every £1 you spend. And points are worth 1p each. So for each £250, you spent you get 1,000 points which works out to £10. In reality like this, it doesn’t sound like a lot and it may take a long time to build up any points.

But as an advantage cardholder, you’ll get vouchers through the post, or you can upload them to your card via the app. And they can boost your points. For example ‘Spend over £30 and get 300 points’, or ‘Buy 2 dental products and get an extra 200 points’. The best ones are usually around Black Friday or Christmas where you get £10 of points for every £60 you spend (or similar).

When I bought my Dyson Hairdryer I used this deal and got about £50 in points from the purchase. I was very happy with that one. The only disadvantage if you can’t use your points to part-pay for an item. You do need enough points to cover the entire cost so it’s worth saving them up which is what I do.

Body shop love your body card

Love Your Body – Body Shop Card

I love the body shop and their ‘Love Your Body’ reward card is pretty great. Every purchase you make helps you earn points, and you get a generous 10 points per £1 you spend. And when you get 500 points you get a £5 reward, which means you’ll have spent £50. One of the things I love about the Body Shop is you can choose to donate your reward money to charity. Which is a nice option if you want to give back.

You also get £5 worth of points to spend on your birthday which is another great incentive. As a member, there’s also the chance that you’ll get invited to exclusive members-only. Although I’ve never seen an invite so I’m not too sure how these work.

Paperchase Treat Me Card

The Paperchase loyalty card is less about building up points and more about benefits. When you first sign up you get 15% off your first purchase which is incentive enough. Then for every £50, you spend you get £5 off your next shop, and on your birthday each year, you get £5 off. This is valid for 14 days from your birthday and there’s no minimum spend which is great.

Other benefits about having the card is you get free Click & Collect when you spend over £10 (this usually costs £2.99). And if your Paperchase has an in-store cafe you get a free regular coffee every week.

Nandos card

Nandos Card

Perhaps another of the most popular cards is the Nando’s card. We probably all remember the cardboard ones you’d need to keep safe and someone would stamp your card. Then there would always be someone at school who has knicked a stamp and would keep topping up his card. A while back they switched to electronic cards which was probably for the best.

With the card, you earn a ‘Chilli’ each time you spend £7 or more on your meal. When you register your card online, or on the app first and you get a bonus chilli. When you get 3 chillies it’s your ‘green reward’ where you can get a 1/4 chicken or a fire-starter. 5 chillies get you an ‘orange reward’ which is a 1/2 chicken or a single wrap, burger or pitta. And 10 chillies is your ‘red reward’ where you can get a whole chicken or a single combo meal with regular sides.

Once you claim your green reward you continue earning to go up to orange and then red, the chilli’s don’t reset each time you claim a reward which is great. Over the years I’ve earnt myself a lot of free chicken with the Nandos card.

One of the most annoying things is that you can only get one chilli per customer per day. So even if you spend £14 you won’t get more than one chilli.

Ikea Family Card

You don’t earn any points with the Ikea Family Card but there are lots of perks of being a cardholder. After you’ve signed up (for free) you can get a free coffee each time you visit. And there are other food deals such as a free £5 voucher on your birthday and a six-item breakfast for just £1.50

The main perk is the ‘family lines’ which are reduced price items. Every few weeks the products on the family deal changes but you can get up to 25% off the regular prices. And the items I’ve seen have always been current products and not older/ sale items. If you buy anything on the sale you get an extra 10% off as well.

If like me you love Ikea it’s a card well worth having, and you usually get to claim a free gift when you first sign up.

Do you know I think I have all of these rolling about somewhere, my problem is I always forget to take them with me. I’ve downloaded an app which I’ve programmed some into, which is a start as it’s silly to forget. I probably use my Costa one the most though.

I have a few loyalty cards. The one I use the most is my favorite grocery store, it gets me lower prices and free products during certain promotions like a free turkey at thanksgiving.

The Boots Advantage Card and the Nandos card are the only two loyalty cards that I’ve ever properly kept up with. The £10 points offer on the ad card is SO good. I’m saving mine up for a Dyson hair dryer at the moment xxx

I always try and take advantage of the £10 points. I actually used that when I got my Dyson hairdryer, spent £300 and got £60 of points from it x
