The Massive Possibilities When Visiting A Manor House

Eastwell Manor front

AD - This is a collaborative post but all thoughts and opinions are my own

When I think of manor houses, I think of great stately homes and visiting heritage sites when I was a kid. In more recent years they’ve been the home to days out and even weddings. One of the things I love about them is how stunning they look. Eastwell Manor is the manor house featured in the images of this post and it is beautiful. The front just looks like something out of a movie. And not like somewhere you can just stay in.

Another thing I love about manor houses is how many different functions they can have. One venue for a whole host of occasions, and that’s what I am going to delve more info over this post.

A weekend away with fancy dining

Me and Luke love to have weekends away, and UK breaks can be more practical. You can just jump in your car with everything you need, and boom you’re having a weekend away. Eastwell Manor has a selection of rooms so you can have a super relaxing weekend break away. And there’s always first-class dining options on the menu (excuse the pun). The menu at the Manor Restaurant looks so tasty, and the great thing about weekends away is you can just roll upstairs to your bedroom after you’ve indulged in your food and drink. No waiting around for a taxi after your meal to drive you back. For someone who loves her sleep as much as me this is essential.

Eastwell Manor spa

Spa trips

Most manor houses will have a spa attached, Eastwell actually has Champney’s Spa so it gets even more points. Whether it’s part of a weekend away, or a stand-alone treat you can’t beat a spa day. Spa trips seem to be one of the only times I actually use a pool and it’s always a nice change to float about. Or maybe swim a few lengths if I’m in the mood. But it’s a great chance to lay back and switch off with a book or even take nap.

I’ve been eyeing up Champney’s facials for a while so this would definitely be on the cards. I love the range of treatments you can get at spas and it can turn a weekend away into a super-indulgent one.

Weddings

Manor houses may be best known for weddings, and one of the best wedding venues in Kent has to be Eastwell Manor. Me and Luke have always said when we get married we love the idea of having both the ceremony and reception in the same place, just different areas. And that’s one of the great things about a manor house, you can do just that. You can get married in one room then move outside for photos and drinks. And then later in the day move into a beautiful room set up for food and an evening dancing.

I can just imagine how stunning the photos would be with the backdrop of the front of the house behind you.

Eastwell Manor afternoon tea

An afternoon tea treat

I am a huge fan of afternoon tea, and I’ve been to a lot. So it wouldn’t be a trip away without booking in for an afternoon tea, and most manor houses offer just that. Sometimes you can join an afternoon tea onto a spa trip or as a treat when you arrive before a stay. Or if you’re like me you book in for the food on it’s own.

The spread of treats looks great, and I’m such a sucker for a lightly dusted scone! Yummy.

Function rooms and meetings

This may not be the most exciting use of a manor house, but if I had to go to a work or business meeting I’d rather a setting like Eastwell than a boring office. Whether it’s a meeting or conference room you’re after manor houses will almost always have the space to accommodate.

Have you ever been to a manor house before?

I love having a mooch around big stately homes. It’s something we used to do regularly as a family when I was a kid.

There are plenty in the Midlands where I live. I’ve been to some beautiful weddings in the past few years. I also enjoy a good afternoon tea and spa break!

The only houses I have visited like this have been National Trust properties and we love them! To stay in a manor house would be a very special experience. Kaz

I love a visit to a country House, especially if they cater for all ages so there’s something we can all enjoy.
