Autumnal Wardrobe Staples That Will Last You Through The Years

Autumn is my absolute favourite time of the year. And part of that reason is for the clothing. I’m just not built for the summer and the heat, and I always struggle to know what to wear to stay cool. But when it’s a season full of jumpers and ankle boots I am all over it. I find outfits for women quite easy when it comes to the Autumn as skinny jeans, a jumper, boots and a faux leather jacket is such a great outfit. And even for someone as unfashionable as me, it works.

Being at my parents I don’t have a proper wardrobe which means I’m restricted with my clothing. I have boxes full of things in a shelving unit, but it does make things a bit hard. But as it’s starting to get colder now I need to dig out a whole load of warmer clothing. Here are some of my favourite Autumnal wardrobe staples that will last you through the years.

Black and burgundy ankle boots

Now I could list a lot of other colours of ankle boots to own (and I have most). But black and Burgandy are the two staples everyone needs in their wardrobe. Naturally black because it goes with everything and you won’t struggle with your outfit. But then burgundy because it can add that little bit of colour to an outfit without looking overpowering.

I don’t tend to buy massively expensive boots, but this year I do want to invest in one heavier duty pair so they last a long time. These black diamante boots are a great alternative as we approach Christmas. The sparkle means you can dress it up with a dress and tights but still feel comfortable in boots.

Cable knit cardigan

Layering is something I love about the Autumn months as you can snuggle up under cardigans and jumpers. But a cable knit cardigan is a staple because it’s warm enough to wrap around you, but as there are some little holes in the cable knit it won’t make you too hot when you sit at work or anywhere where the central heating will be blasting out.

This is ultimate comfort and a way of injecting some colour into your outfit such as this mustard bubble sleeve cardigan. Although for the UK this colour block cardigan which has a hood seems a bit more practical. Having a cardigan with a hood is a godsend as you can’t trust the weather.

Black V neck jumper

I have way more jumpers than any one person needs but a staple is a classic black v neck jumper. You can wear a cute brightly coloured T-shirt underneath and still see the slogan and colour. But it will give you another layer to keep warm. If you want something thicker and warmer this grey and pink thick knit jumper is gorgeous.
