*I was gifted an Ultimate Moments box in exchange for this post.
But all thoughts and opinions are my own
Anyone who has read my blog before will know how much of an advocate of experience gifts I am. There are so many advantages to experience gifts. The person you’re gifting will get the chance to do something and create lasting memories. I’ve booked experience gifts for my dad quite a lot as it’s meant we can go out and do something together like archery or shooting.
The brand has been pioneering the idea of experience gifts since 1989. Before I was even born (just!) And they have so many gifting options.
Red Letter Days not only offer a lot of experience’s but they also offer gift boxes like the Ultimate Moments Box* featured here. This means you’re giving them an experience gift but they can choose exactly what they want to do. Great for someone who perhaps you don’t know as well. Or you want to give them the ultimate choice.
The boxes can be sent digitally if you’re a bit last minute, but these physical boxes are beautiful and mean you’ve got something to wrap.
With the Ultimate Moments Box, you have the choice of over 945 different experiences to choose from all across the UK. The thing I love most about this is you can choose to do something locally. Or you can use it as an excuse to get away and have a mini-break.
Within the various options of what to do, you can choose to book a mini-break away with plenty of 1 or 2-night hotel getaways. I love this idea as if you gift it to someone you’re not only giving them a present. But you’re giving them a holiday. A chance to get away and relax, which after Christmas is just what I’m sure we’d all love to do. And you can choose from hundreds of hotels all over the country.
One option we were debating with when we booked our experience was a spa day. We’re heading up to Edinburgh in January for my birthday and were tempted to choose somewhere here. But this was beaten by something else which caught our eye.
For our experience, we’ve booked into the Hotel Chocolat Bean to Bar Chocolate Making class. We’ll get the chance to learn about the art of chocolate making, create our own chocolate and then leave with a goodie bag of treats. I didn’t realise an experience like this even existed and I’m really excited to head there as a pre-Christmas treat.
If you’re a food lover but sweets aren’t quite your thing you can choose a Michelin star meal with drinks or dinner with champagne.
For adrenaline junkies, you can bungee jump, go-kart, or even indulge in thrilling jet ski rentals at Fort Walton Beach. I’ve done the Lee Valley white water rafting, which is such an incredible experience that I’d 100% recommend it if you get the chance.
If you’re in London you can choose tickets to a West End show which is an amazing idea as there are so many great shows out at the moment.

I love experience days/gifts – I feel they create memories that last so much longer. My sister always takes me for a surprise in London for my birthday every year – it’s tradition – and we always have the best time x
We often buy experience gifts for my in laws – they really appreciate it every year and always choose something different. I recently won a Red Letters Day voucher so will soon be choosing an experience for myself.
Oh that’s so exciting, any idea what you might go for? x
It sounds like they have a fair few experinces. I would love to try a few myself. Th foodie experience you mentioned sounds ideal for me.
Like others above, I too prefer the experience gift. I think when you get the right one, your loved ones will appreciate it and talk about it again and again.
This is perfect for my mother in law, she is SO hard to buy for. Always says not to get her anything but would never let us live it down if we didn’t lol
This really is the perfect gift for someone who is difficult to buy for. They can choose their own experience and like you, I also advocate experiences over a gifts, so it’s a great idea for those who feel the same.
I love experience day gifts – i keep hinting to my husband that I want to do a falconry day but he hasn’t taken the hint (yet)
It can be so hard to but gifts so some people, I love that this gives them the opportunity to chose from a range of experiences to suit them
You’re right there is something for pretty much everybody there. I’ve done a few in the past and have had a blast.
I always struggle buying gifts for certain people in my family, mainly the blokes! This is a great suggestion and one I’m going to take on board for this Christmas!
We love Red Letter Days and have bought a few experiences but not the boxes, great suggestion.
