How To Have The Best Date Day In London

Me in Fortnum and Mason on the cheese tour

*I was provided a complimentary tickets for my date day in exchange
for blog content. But all thoughts and opinions are my own

London is a great place to go on a date day as there’s so much to do. Be that a romantic date, a solo date which we all need once in a while, or a friend date. A few weekends ago I headed into London with my bestie for a friend date thanks to Musement. Museument are an online platform to help travellers book tickets for attractions all over the world. Or those like me exploring their own city. There are hundreds of choices of things to do in London but also all around the world.

The hardest thing for me was choosing what I wanted for our date day in London. I wanted to pick things we hadn’t done, but also things which defined our friendship.

Our date day started with a cheese tour

Me and my bestie are both massive foodies, and there’s little we love more than cheese. So we started off with a 12 pm meet to do The London Cheese Experience. The tour itself is on just once a week on a Saturday and runs for 2 hours. After meeting our group at Green Park we headed off for our first stop in Fortnum and Mason. Here we tried some Cornish Yerg cheese which was an incredible start and something neither of us had tried before.

From here we stopped at four other locations around the Green Park/ Picadilly area. This included Whole Foods for prosecco and Brie with Pear and a lovely Italian shop for prosecco and red wine infused cheese. The prosecco cheese was my favourite of the day, I even bought myself a chunk to bring home. The tour was really interesting as we learnt more about cheese and the importance of the area for cheese. The tour was a great way t0 start our day date.

Our evening ended with a theatre show

We spent a few hours in the middle of our day stopping for a coffee break, exploring the area and having dinner at the Seven Dials Market. The evening ended with one of our absolute favourite things to do, going to the theatre. We picked up tickets to Matilda from Musement which start at just £19.50. We got circle tickets which were really well situated and gave us a great view.

I remember reading Matilda when I was younger but somehow I have never watched the movie. The kid eating the cake at the beginning always put me off. One of the best parts of the show was the original songs which were written by comedian Tim Minchin. And the other best bit was how talented the kids were, especially the young girl playing Matilda herself.

What are your favourite ways to spend a date day?

I’ve never heard of The London Cheese Experience – that sounds like a lot of fun. If you can eat / like cheese. I think I’d like a good crawl like that with something like dairy free cakes. That would be great. I do want to see Matilda though! It is one of my favourite books and the movie is actually hilarious too. But I know what you mean about the cake scene.

There really is so much to see, do and experience in London. No matter how long your stay is, you will never see everything! I used to love people watching in Covent Garden, oh to rewind time and be back there! Sim – simslife.co.uk x
