Revolution Skincare- What Is Worth Buying For The Price Point

There have been quite a few affordable skincare brands cropping up including The Ordinary, Inky List and Beauty Pie. But one brand I’ve not heard many people talk about is Revolution Skincare. The makeup range has been out for quite a while but the skincare still remains pretty new. Their tagline is about ‘making high-performance, targeted solutions with the latest ingredients first, fast and accessible to everyone’. So on the back of this Revolution Skincare products tend to sit under the £10 mark which is great!

The collection is pretty extensive with lots of serums, mists, masks and toners. I decided to place an order for a few bits to see what they were like. The one area I did think they lacked in was the cleansing part of the skincare routine. I ended up picking up a toner, a moisturiser, a face mask and a spray to try the rang. Although they do have loads of serums which I’d be keen to try. But I need to finish a few of my open ones first.

Revoluion Skincare Toner and Essence Sprays

First up is one of my favourite products I picked up, the Revolution Skincare 5% Glycolic Acid Toner which is £9.99. I’ve seen (and tried) quite a few products which aim to dupe the Pixi Glow Tonic. And honestly I think this does a pretty good job at it. Understandably this is one of the brands most popular and in demand products. It’s an exfoliating tonic that cleanses and conditions the skin. You can buy it at 2.5% and 5% strength depending on whether your skin is used to Glycolic. I have the stronger one and I don’t find it stings my skin like some I’ve found have. After using it I find my skin is glowy and radiant looking.

Another big yay from the products I tried was the Revolution Skincare Hyaluronic Essence Spray at just £5.99 and part of five new facial mists to be launced. This essence spray is formulated to add moisture thanks to the Hyaluronic Acid and I find it works so well as the final step in my evening skincare routine. It has Grapefruit Extract in it so it smells amazing as well. So this would work well as a morning pick me up. All you have to do is close your eyes, hold it about 20cm away from your face and spray. My skin drinks this up and feels bouncy and hydrated afterwards.

Revolution Skincare creams and masks

Now onto a product which was nice but didn’t blow me away; the Revolution Skincare Lightweight Hydrating Gel-Cream at £7.99. I did like the texture of the cream as it was lightweight like the name says. And it’s another product with Hyaluronic Acid in it to help skin retain moisture. I found it sank into my skin nicely but I didn’t find it ground breaking or any better than other similar priced (0r cheaper) moisturisers. I would quite like to try the CBD cream they do though to see if the hydration hit is any better.

The final product is another one which didn’t blow me away and I’m kinda of gutted about and that’s the Revolution Skincare X Jamie Dragon Face Mask at £8. The products in collaboration with beauty influencr Jake Jamie were the first bits which pulled me into the Revolution Skincare brand. But I don’t think the Dragon Face Mask was the best for me. It’s a nice formular as it’s thick and creamy but I found that my skin tingled when I used it despite me not being able to find anything in the ingredients list which may have caused it. It wasn’t a lot but it didn’t feel comfortable, and it didn’t hydrate my skin as much as I would have liked. It’s designed as much as a soothing mask, although it didn’t soothe me. I’m thinking the Watermelon Hydrating Mask might be more up my street.

Overall I’ve been pretty impressed with the Revolution Skincare and there are so many products I’d still like to try like their caffeine products, and the serums. I got mine through Superdrug when they had a third off all products, but Boots also sell them and have great offers on all the time too!
