I’m going to hold my hands up and admit I’ve been pretty rubbish when it comes to cashback sites in the past. I signed up to Top Cash Back a few years ago but barely ever used it. I’d generally want to make quick and easy purchases online and a lot of the time I’d be on my phone. But a few months ago I signed up to Quidco and have been getting a lot better. I’ve only made about £40 in cashback so far as we’ve not been spending that much. But that’s still £40 I wouldn’t have had. So it’s basically free money. Here are some tips on how I’ve been using Quidco to make money.
Quidco is a cashback site where you can make extra money when you buy things online. In a digital world we all make online purchases so this is a quick, easy and free way to make extra money.
Firstly you sign up for Quidco, and if you use my refer a friend code here then you’ll get a £10 bonus. You usually get your bonus after your first cashback sale. Then you just log in, search for the retailer you’re going to buy from and once you’ve made the decision click ‘Get cashback’. You’ll then be redirected to the retailer’s page which will look the same as normal to make your purchase. A ‘cookie’ is added to your browser so Quidco can track what you buy and let the retailer know to pay your cashback. Quidco themselves make a small commission and then pass some of that along to you as cashback. So it’s that easy to use Quidco to make money.
Quidco have their own Chrome plugin which is a great way to utilise Quidco to make money online. Once installed you can click it while you’re online to search for cashback deals. Then when you’re on Google searching for a product Quidco will show the different cashback amounts for retailers. As if the purchase price is the same you may as well buy from the retailer offering the most cashback. Especially if it’s a bigger purchase like technology or kitchen appliances. For me, this has been the game-changer. Even just seeing the Quidco logo on my browser reminds me to use it.
A bit like the apps like Shopmium and Checkout Smart, Quidco offer cashback on your food shop through Click Snap. All you need to do is browse the deals and if you buy any from the participating supermarket you’ll be able to claim the cashback. All you need to do is share an image of your receipt and Quidco will review it. As soon as your purchase has been confirmed your cashback is paid into your account.
I’ve not yet used this option through Quidco but it’s something I’m going to use going forward.
As we’re going to be moving very soon we want to utilise Quidco to make money on loads of house things. For example, we’re going to be buying all new kitchen appliances and will be spending a lot. So we’ll aim to buy all of this online using Quidco. Then when we buy any furniture we may need we’ll get this through Quidco as well as we’ll need quite a few items, even if we don’t buy them straight away.
But you can also get cashback on things from Screwfix, B&Q, Wickes and so many more. So materials and items we may need for the house can be bought through Cashback. Plus there are loads more like flights, holidays etc. One regret I have is not getting our Sandals holiday online with cashback, but I’m trying not to think about how much we’d have gotten.

I’ve been using Quidco for years but not so much lately! I wasn’t aware there was a Chrome plugin, I’ll have to download it x
I just need to push myself to use it as much as possible as it’s free money! x
I’ve never heard of Quidco before. Looks like a great way to make extra money. Thanks for explaining how it works. I’ll give it a try! 😉
I think I used to use Quidco ages ago but stopped for some reason. I really must start to use it again thanks for the reminder
It’s just a habit to get into, and I’m really pushing myself to use it more x
This sounds like a really useful plugin. I haven’t tried it myself but may need to consider it as making a little money here and there can really help.
We have usd cashback sitrs in the past and my wife often moans if I haven’t gone through one to use it, they are good to have an easy way of earning that extra money, I have used this one before but will look into it.
I have a Quidco account but definitely don’t utilise it as much as I should. I need to get into the habit of using it.
I was introduced to Quidco by a friend and always support money back apps. I love this app and use it often.
I was introudced to Quidco a short while ago and haven’t really used it for anything yet, although we do need to sort house and pet insurance so will probably do that through the app.
It’s amazing how much all of your purchases can add up and a little bit of cashback here and there all adds up too x
I don’t know why I haven’t ever considered one of these before! I need to get on and sort one out. If I do, I will use your code! 🙂
See, I am the opposite. I have done really well with Top Cashback so always forget about Quidco. Downloading the app now
I do always check both to see the rates especially for larger things but I’ve had so many issues with top cashback not registering my purchases x
Quidco sounds like a great app and who doesn’t want to earn money back on their regular purchases!? The app sounds really handy to have installed too!
I’ve never used a cashback site before but I’m off to sign up for Quidco using your link. Sounds great!
