Considering how many lovely days we had in May last year, May 2022 was a bit of a disappointment. No searching through my cupboards to find the shorts or days where only a BBQ would do. Hopefully, this means it’s all to come, but who knows.
I’m so happy because Luke is no longer working away for half the week. It’s made such a difference having him home all week, I’ve certainly eaten better, and gotten up a little earlier during the week.
During May it’s both my auntie’s and my brother’s birthday so we had a few different family meals which were nice. It was also my friend’s birthday celebrations at the start of the month where I attended my very first BBQ of the year.
The boys are doing well, although I can’t believe in six weeks they’ll be a whole-year-old already. We can tell they’re coming to the end of their kitten stage as they’ve been eating a lot less and being a bit lazier than usual. Although I don’t blame them, I’d be exactly the same if I was them.
I had a contrast of gigs this month. Near the start of the month I headed to Camden’s Electric Ballroom with Luke to see Does it offend you yeah? I was going purely for him as I’m not a massive fan but the show was alright. But then the biggie near the end of the month, My Chemical Romance at MK Stadium. I still can’t get over that this show happened, it was absolutely incredible. I cried quite a few times during the set, and I wish I could go back and do it all again.
At the cinema, in May 2022 we saw Doctor Strange which was amazing. I just love a good Marvel movie and this didn’t disappoint. And then we also went to see The Lost City which was the lighthearted fun movie that we all need in our lives.
At the very very start of the month, I had the wedding down in Portsmouth for my school friend who I’ve known since we were about 5 years old. After two years of delays, it was so lovely to see her walk down the aisle and marry her best friend.
And talking of weddings it’s now officially less than one year until mine and Luke’s wedding which is so exciting. We’ve done a few more of the smaller decor bits/ cake topper etc, and the hen party planning is coming along well too. We’ve started planning our invites ready to go out later this year, I made some reservations for hotels in Scotland for our mini-moon and we have a meeting in August to look at wedding rings for Luke. So it’s all coming together now.
May is always a great month as it’s Eurovision month and I love Eurovision. This year we had a small gathering this year with some friends around ours, and it was really fun to watch it with other people for once. Plus it gave us a good excuse to go to Costco and buy all the food to munch on.
In the middle of the month, I headed into London to get my latest two tattoos from my favourite, Louise Coleman. I got a sun that matches the style of the moon tattoo I got at the start of the year. And then I also got a floral bouquet on the top of the same arm. I absolutely love Louise’s style and am prepping and planning for my next ones. Before my tattoo, I ticked off another place from my London foodie bucket list which was Polo Bar in Liverpool Street. Their pancakes were just amazing.

That is amazing!!! You had a ton done in May. Mine wasn’t bad at all, a lot of road trips and self exploration.
Road trips?! Other than one to Portsmouth that’s really not true x
May is always a busy month here, too, with all the end-of-the-school-year things for the kids. Congrats on one year left and getting wedding things planned! I’m sure it’ll come along faster than you think.
On wow, it’s amazing how time flies when you are preparing a wedding. Sounds liek you are making progress which is great. Good luck!! I know you’ll have teh most amazing day!!!
Still haven’t seen it to see Dr. Strange. I am excited to see it soon though, and I need to hurry before it is out of theaters!
Ohh no, you need to try and see it soon as it’s so good x
Glad to hear that you had a fun month in May. I am planning to watch the movie, Dr. Strange. Sounds like a great movie! Congrats on your coming wedding too. I am so happy for you!
That is so fun to be planning a wedding! And congrats for having your cats for a year; we have two and we love them so much! We have also been waiting for so long for summer weather.
I just can’t get over how long we’ve had the cats now, they’re just part of our family now x
I saw Dr Strange as well and really enjoyed it! It was a great movie.
Cats are so much fun and don’t worry they will still be active after they pass one year old. Mine is 4 and still actis like a kitten, full of energy. Your mini-moon in Scotland sounds like it’s going to be so much fun.
I really hope they stay active running round after each other haha x
It’s lovely you managed to see your friend getting married finally. I am going to a wedding myself next month, I love weddings! Only a year to yours now as well. How exciting!
I’m so glad to hear Dr Strange is good. I really want to see it but haven’t had the time to. How cute are the kitties. They grow so fast!
You really should go and see it! x
Sounds like you had a month filled with some fun activities! It’s been a chillier and cloudier start to spring here as well, hope it changes soon!
Sounds like such an incredible month! I am so jealous of everyone who got to see MCR, I would have cried a lot too. I’m with you on the elder emo front. Sounds like your wedding planning is coming along nicely, it’s such a fun and exciting time.
I kind of wish I’d managed to get tickets for more than one night after going haha x
It sounds like you have been very busy for the last couple of months. I hope you continue to have fun throughout the summer.
Thanks, hope you have a good summer too x
