*This is a collaborative post on why Autumn is my favourite season for clothing
While I enjoy the sunshine in moderation, I am not a summer baby. For me, Autumn is the best time of the year for all manner of things, clothing being a big one. Yes, it’s a bit of a cliché to say Autumn is your favourite season. And there’s a bit of an Instagram stereotype of someone who drinks pumpkin-spiced lattes and poses wearing various shades of orange, beige and brown. But so many people say it for a reason.
I understand why others may be upset about it being dark by 6 pm or not being able to head out without a jacket. But for me, there’s something special about the crisp days, the darker evenings and the need to wear layers. And it’s the time of the year my wardrobe is made for.
I’m far more of a functional person when it comes to my clothing than being in it for ‘fashion’. But the aesthetic of Autumn clothing brings me so much happiness.
I’m always at a loss in Summer as I live in my boots during the rest of the year. It doesn’t matter the style; ankle boots, knee high boots, military boots, anything. But during the summer they’re just a bit too hot to wear. No one wants sweaty ankles and feet!
There are so many amazing designs of boots for women that we’re a bit spoilt for choice. And I’m so happy to have pulled mine back out and been able to stomp around outside. Plus, aren’t boots so much more comfortable than a pair of strappy sandals?
To accompany boots, you’ll want a nice warm boot sock or just something thick to keep your toes warm. Plus, as you’ll barely have your feet on show, there’s no need to get a pedicure or paint your toes. Win win!
Nothing screams cosy more than a good pair of PJs or a loungewear set. And isn’t life all about feeling cosy and comfortable?!
As I work from home, I am generally in loungewear throughout the cooler months, from September to around March. So I’m all for the comfy jogging bottoms, the soft ‘house coats’ and big fluffy slippers.
And who doesn’t love a pair of PJs?!
Getting dressed during the summer is hard. Sometimes it’s too warm for a light jacket but too cold not to have one. And other times, you’re sweating just putting on a pair of shorts. Thankfully you don’t have to worry about that in Autumn as you can wear all the cardigans, jumpers and coats you want. I love feeling snuggly and warm, and it’s the comfort you get from layering.
After such a warm summer in the UK, I’m embracing the cold; in fact, other than gas prices, I’m loving it.
With gas prices so high now, we’re all going to be sitting at home wearing 20 layers looking like the Michelin man this winter. But it’s amazing how much difference a big jumper can make and save you from having to put the heating on.
If you’re wearing a skirt or dress, chances are your legs will be wrapped in leggings or tights, so there’s no decision about whether I think I should shave my legs or not.

I just love the cozy knits and mules…it might be my favorite season for fashion too! ^_^
I love fall wear myself. It is nice because it is a good in between – not too hot, and not too cold!
So true x
I love all the snuggly, cosy clothing we get to wear in autumn too. Comfort food aside, it’s probably my favourite thing about this season.
I totally agree x
I love wearing a pair of boots and lots of warm jumpers in the Autumn months.
I love autumn!. It’s definitely my favourite season to dress. Knee high boots are always a win aren’t they 🙂
I am with you here – I am all about spring and autumn when it comes to clothes, it’s not too cold, or to hot and you can bundle up in layers perfect!
Autumn is my favourite time of the year. I love all the colours, the leaves and wrapping up warm but still mild enough to be able to enjoy the weather
Exactly this! x
