I am notoriously bad for dressing appropriately for the weather outside. This is probably because I spend a lot of time indoors, and forget how much colder it can be outside. So I don’t have a specific winter wardrobe, it’s just my wardrobe in general.
Autmn is my favourite time of the year as I love the colder days and darker nights. But during winter it gets just a little too cold for my liking. With the prices of energy being at an all time high we’re trying to limit our usage, so I’m wearing jumpers and thick slippers around the house. But outside is just as cold
Here are some of the items I added to my winter wardrobe.
Can you believe that up until just before Christmas I didn’t own a proper coat?! I had various jackets and light layers, but nothing truly warm or cosy.
So I picked up the faux fur trim duffle coat from Yours* (£65.99) to help me out in the colder weather. It has everything you’d want from a coat from front pockets and popper fastenings to a cosy hood. This is going to be such a godsend during the cold months, especially when I’m trying to get outside more.
Originally I was going to get a nice bright colour, but I decided to go practical and pick black, this way it will go with everything.
In contrast to the practical black coat, I’ve added the black and pink check midi shacket* (£55.99) to my wardrobe). It’s already proved very handy for evenings out and trips into London.
It’s the sort of jacket that is still super cosy, but has a very different feeling to the duffle coat. I am a huge check fan so I love the pattern on this jacket, with the pink being quite subtle. It has loads of pockets including two chest ones and two side pockets and it has a button fastening the whole way down.
The thing I love most about it is the length. It’s a midi length which on me comes to my thighs, so it is pretty long. But for those evenings out it’s really great for keeping out the chill.
When I’m working at home and know I won’t be going out I tend to wear a lot of loungewear and joggers. And while this is comfortable and cosy I have so many nice tops and shirts that I don’t get to wear much.
So one of my fashion goals is to wear more nice clothing at home. I want to start wearing things at home that make me happy and not just saving things for best or when I’m going out. But having comfortable bottoms is so important, especially when you’re sat at a desk for a chunk of the day.
I’m a big fan of jeggings, so I picked up these grey grace jeggings* (£24.99). They’re great for wearing at home (and out) as they look the same as jeans on but you get the comfort of an elasticated waistband.

I do love Yours Clothing as find they have a great range but everything fits so well. I have those jeggings in fact wearing them today and they are so comfortable
They really do fit well, it’s nice to know almost everything comes in such a wide range of sizes x
The coat is stunning! I lock the checkered print, really classy and beautiful.
I have been in the same boat as you for a while. I finally gave in a bought a proper witner coat last year and guess what, I have hardly worn it this year. But it’s good to have it! I need a good pair of jeggings so will check them out.
I wish I’d had mine during the week of snow and minus temperatures, but I’m sure it will happen again sadly x
I pretty much live in comfy leggings so those are a great addition!
Loungewear and joggers are your frineds when you work at home. I also need to update my wardrobe and add some pieces.
They are your friends, but I need to start wearing some things other than them haha x
Love the pieces you’ve added! Winter is all about comfort for me!
A proper coat is so important for Winter. To be warm and stylish at the same time.
So many fun pieces! Anything to try and make winter more lively right?!
Great choices! I’m so grateful to be living in California where we rarely really have a winter. I have never liked winter attire.
I wish I could live somewhere where it was Autumn weather all year long haha x
Definitely great pieces for the season! I love the shacket trend this year and they are perfect staples too.
I liked that coat I want to get one for myself too. I like layering up in winters.
