*This is a collaborative post on how to tell your employees are loyal

As a business leader it can help to know when you are doing well with your employees but the hardest thing to do is to ask. You want to be told that you are doing a good job as a manager, rather than feel like you have to beg for good feedback. Loyalty is defined by a strong feeling of allegiance to a person or a cause or even an organization, but measuring loyalty in the workplace is not the easiest thing to do. You want to know that your employees feel good about coming to work every day and are not just sitting there complaining every time you are not in earshot.

We all want to know that people feel happy to be coming to further your business every day, because loyalty does no longer equal tenure. You want to be able to tell that your staff is loyal, and yes, if you are avoiding lawsuits for gross misconduct at work, it’s a good indication that people are loyal, but it’s not the only way to do it. Loyalty is definitely not a blind devotion. You have to earn it from the people who work for you and you have to cultivate it and make it part of your business culture. Here are some of the ways that you can know that your employees are loyal to you.

Employees are loyal if you can trust what they say

Loyal employees do what they say they’re going to do when they say they’re going to do it. Not only are they delivering when they say they will, they are delivering outside of the important projects and urgent deadlines. Loyal employees are there to give you their opinions in a constructive way, and you know when you ask for a piece of work it’s going to get done no matter what.

The people who work for you have integrity

The three top qualities that you should look for in your employees are good energy, intelligence and integrity. Loyal employees will always be gracious in the way that they act, and they value mutual respect. They can be trusted in your business with your private information and you can be sure that that’s not going to go anywhere else.

Employees are loyal if they are team players

The loyal people in your team you will notice root for the team’s success rather than push for personal glory. They want everybody next to them to succeed and they want to know that the team is stronger because they are part of it. Loyal employees know that they will be recognised for their contribution to the team because they trust in you as their employer that you will recognise and elevate them where you can. More than that though, they in turn will elevate their teammates.

They helped the company to improve

Loyal employees are there to share the ways that they believe that the business will improve. they understand the process is the procedures of the business, and nobody but this employee who is most loyal will understand those procedures better. They will be striving for efficiency and productivity in everything that they do.
