Introducing Four Of My Favourite Moisturisers

Fresh rose face mask and face cream

*This is a collaborative post on my favourite moisturisers. All thoughts and opinions are my own

I’ve had combination skin for as long as I can remember. But in recent years I’ve found my skin getting drier and drier. I even had a period in the lead up to my wedding last year where my skin was so noticeably dry it hurt. It could have been stress or a change in hormones, but it’s meant I’ve had to up my skincare game.

I’m pretty good with my morning post-shower skincare routine. But I’ve gotten pretty bad at doing my evening skincare. So this is something I need to work on. But if nothing else I’ll always use a moisturiser in the hope that it helps hydrate my skin. Here are some of my favourite moisturisers that are helping to save my skin.

Fresh rose deep hydration moisturiser

I’ve tried quite a few product’s from the Fresh moisturiser range before, and their rose deep hydrating moisturiser is one of my favs. It’s quite a thick cream hence the name ‘deep hydration’ and my skin absolutely loves it.

The damask rose extract within it is designed to make your skin dewy and pumped with moisture, and the scent isn’t overpowering like some rose scents are. The rose extract strengthens the skin’s barrier to lock in moisture and it’s said to deeply hydrate for 72 hours.

Murad clarifying oil-free water gel

This is a relatively new addition to my collection but has fast become a favourite moisturiser. I love the consistency of this Murad product as it’s a gel as opposed to a cream. If you’re looking to compare similar formulas, expert guides to gel-based moisturisers can help you find the right option for your skin type.  So it’s lighter and doesn’t need time to sink into my skin. For this reason I use it more in the morning.

It works to keep the microbiome balanced for clearer and healthier-looking skin. And it’s ideal for people with oily or acne-prone skin. It’s really hydrating and the ginger root within it helps to soothe the skin.

Charlotte Tilbury magic cream

When I was in Bicester Village at the end of 2022 I picked up a sample set of skincare from Charlotte Tilbury. I’d dreamed of trying to magic cream but couldn’t justify the price. And the sample set was great as it allowed me to try multiple products.

The magic cream is designed to smooth, firm, plump and prime the skin in one step. It’s clinically proven to help boost your skin barrier. And after using my skin definitely felt plumper and firmer.

Despite the price I am really keen to buy a full-sized version, but I may need to wait for a sale.

Origins drink up intensive overnight hydrating mask

This one may be a slight cheat as it’s not strictly a moisturiser but I use it in a similar way to one. The Origins intensive overnight hydrating mask is so hydrating that my skin literally drinks it up. The skin is instantly flooded with moisture, and it makes my skin feel so smooth and silky.

You don’t need to wash off this mask, you just apply a layer before bed and let it work it’s magic. But as it’s a mask it’s designed to only be used once or twice a week. And it smells incredible.

My bottle is pretty much used up so I need to repurchase this asap.

This hydrating mask looks very effective. I have been using aloe vera based moisturizers mostly.

I used to be terrible for looking after my skin, where as now I am more aware and have a great morning and evening skin care routine. I have yet to try the magic cream and have had it on my list of wants for a long time

I’m not usually a fan of rose, but this is a bit more delicate so it’s on the nice end x

Sounds like such a fabulous set of moisturizers. I too have heard wonderful things about the CT magic cream…I would love to try some of her products but the price point is just a little too high and I feel like there are some good contenders on the market at a more reasonable price.
